go for a monitor under 12ms and you should be fine
in addition, if your currently using a non widescreen, just a warning that they take a little getting used to, especially in games.

Im currently running a regular 19" and a widescreen 19" in dual desktop just for the extra work space and ive found that the widescreen doesn't feel as big. It is however, great for watching movies, using photoshop and doing other regular work based activities like using office programs.

As before stated, you need to get the hang of the new resolution of your monitor I guess. For example, going from a 17" to a 19" some FPS gamers have trouble adjusting their aim etc.

Resolution of the 19" is 1280 x 1024
while
Resolution of the widescreen 19" is 1440 x 900

which one do you like better the Reg. or the Wide for games

I paid $1500+ from best buy when they were on sale and new to the market.

I like the Viewsonic crt's the 20inch is pretty kewl and can handle any resolution you throw at it. Example I run my viewsonic at 1600x1200 with a refresh of 120.

If you do go with a CRT then you'd be better off buying from a local vender as they way a ton and shipping would be a killer.

Nicholson , I do not know of any 22" widescreens that can do 1080 either. I guess I was just trying to say that he should go big cuz its nice and he will luv himself for doing it ..His wallet may not though. His wife will get use to the missing$$$$$

 i got money but not going to waste that much on a screen wife would think im crazy i would to lol

Definately the regular.
Because if you began playing games on a 17", moving to a 19" is just an increase in size.
Wheras a move to widescreen is moving to a different aspect ratio.

Oh and btw, i have a similar model to that samsung (just non widescreen), and I am totally happy with it.
Besides the scratches i accidentally did when i was throwing stuff in my room lol

I like wide screen better for every thing as long as the wide screen is 27 inch or over.....

wide screen is ergonomic for your eyeballs!!! People view more , better and faster from right to left or left to right as opposed to up and down or down and up:toast:

Dom,

The viewsonic model you chose is a decent price with the discount, HOWEVER, it does not support DVI interface so if you have a card that supports DVI or want it in the future the Samsung 19" you chose is a good choice.

I have a 17" samsung and love it. I have a Samsung CRT and it was nice but took up WAY too much space on the desk! Something to be said for having clear desk space!

"Samsung 940BX 19” Widescreen LCD. Armed with a 5ms response time to eliminate ghosting, and an exceptional contrast ratio of 1000:1 to ensure crisp, clear graphics, this stylish display is perfect for the serious gaming enthusiast.

To keep your space neat and tidy, the high resolution 1280 X 1024 display....."

I don't think you can go wrong with a Samsung.
They've been around for ages, and I've never heard anything bad about em.

You should thoroughly enjoy that monitor

Well as you read im looking on getting a screen, cuz tired of changing it from my rig to my old dell "wifes" rig now

And im looking on something cheap but also good for my X1950Xt

So can you guys find something "Nice" and "Cheap" cuz I dont know what to look for:confused: thats why im asking for help;)

and since im asking for help is AS ceramic-based thermal compound better for Vid Cards?

And well I read a review, and the guy said that he had been using AS5 but tryed AS ceramic-based and CPU is idling 2-4 degrees cooler??

So is it better cuz I was lokking on getting both but if the ceramic-based is better i'll just get one and save some cash cuz i was going for the bigger tubes.

Thanks in Advance:D :toast:

nice cheap great deals www.merkortech.com (click the left image for accuratIT) good 21in monotors with free shiping for 140 range :) some more some less some have DVI others vga :D great site :D use them offten!!!

Couldnt tell you, never used LG and i dont know anyone who has. the only thing i have heard about LG is that their image processing tecnology can some times mess up fast moving images although that was to do with an 26" LCD TV and i dunno if it applies to this. As for the specs these are all claimed just like printer manufactures claim pages per minute some times they get close other times there way off the mark.

AshenSugar are you talking about CRT's??

Well I dont want a CRT there to big.

So, I think im going to end up going with the SAMSUNG 940BX Black 19"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001080

they have lcd's as well, but normaly unless it needs to fit in a very small box i prefer crt, higher refreshrates and NO DEAD PIXELS!!!!!! also if you change res's you dont get that lovely imagequility loss that lcd's get(mines native 1600x1200 and anything lower gets fuzzy even with dvi-d connection) its quite frustrating :/
