The one thing that annoys me the most is cleaning dirt off keyboard. I'm not talking about dust, which rarely gets to stay on a keyboard for long due to frequent use. I'm talking about dust and debris combined with sweat stuck under and between a keyboard's crevices. Even compressed air is futile against such dirt!

And so I'm looking for a keyboard that simply doesn't have such crevices like the one shown below. I don't think there is any mechanical keyboard like that, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I'd also prefer a backlit keyboard if one is available, and of course it will primarily be used for gaming. I'd also need a numpad too when I'm not gaming, which is why the one I linked is outside my consideration.

Alterntaively if anyone can povide me a super godly hidden raptor door-opening keyboard cleaning technique that makes cleaning keyboards a trival joke, then I'll just get a Ducky mechanical keyboard.

Thanks in advance.

ADD: Oops, forgot to link the image. Here's what I'm looking for, but I need a numpad instead of some useless LCD gimmick.

You might laugh....

But the only dirt proof keyboard is a roll up keyboard

Heck they are even water proof and you can wash them but they use membrane actuators which require a lot of pressure to get response

There is some backlit roll up keyboards

You could always use a screw driver & open up the keyboard to clean it , you lazy...:p

The best way is to not eat over the keyboard or drink...
When you get hungry maybe it is time for a break anyways don't you think?
Maybe you could try eating before going on the PC & wash your hands before using the keyboard unless you wanted to be all greasy...;)

My test for a keyboard is to usually bend it over my knee. Too bad I haven't ever used a roll up keyboard.

I'm lazy enough to give up a mechanical keyboard for dirt-proof. Sue me. :p

I'm not exactly looking for a completely dust/water proof keyboard like that rubber one. All I'm after is something that have no opening between keys.

I think your only choice then would be mat keyboards like seronx posted

You know what a keyboard that would be like a "touch screen" that would be nice but it still doesn't exist yet...

Wow, truly all kinds of keyboards exist. o_O The problem I see with that flat keyboard is touch-typing though. I may have to settle with a SWTOR keyboard at this rate. Perhaps I can mod the LCD so it shows a numpad. :p

As said the issue really isn't with dust, it's with dirt that sticks onto the keyboard during use. I tend to snack sometimes while gaming, fully knowing that it'd get my keyboard dirty. I'm just lazy and I want to find a keyboard I can easily clean up later. :p

Even backlit keyboard?

Besides, where I live if you leave something to dry in the sun for a week, it will probably come back wetter. >>
