All right cool my bad I have not looked at that part of the interface.

Are there any potential dangers to leaving stuff in particular places that anyone knows of? Like If I have a key to a dead guys house can I dump my stuff there safely?

I feel bad making Lydia lug around all those heavy dragon bones :p

Noo noo nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. That stuff WILL disappear. This is the main purpose of buying your own house. You can put your stuff in a chest that will not respawn at all. You better go get that stuff quick or else it might disappear.

I know but I don't have the coin yet. Are you sure? It depended on cell in the other games iirc. Guess I can test with a wolf pelt or something.

Buying the cheap house is the way to go if you have 5000 gold laying around.

Oh and I'm glad he posted the dragon armor picture. AWFUL ugly that it. I've been saving up all the bones for this but I'd not wear it now that I've seen it.

Yeah it is pretty fugly. And no I don't have the 5K yet.

Again, that's hardly major (and is short on details other than the amount) but is still an example of something that should probably go in a spoiler tag. You could have posted "Regarding a house..." then the rest in tags, for example.

Easiest house to get is the one in Whiterun for 5000. Worth the expense to have security of your stored stuff.

I may never get to play this game.
It finished updating in the middle of the night last night, so that took about 60 hours.
I figured, cool I'll play it when I get home from work.
Now it's updating again when I tried to start it tonight. sigh.

Yes, I can do that, but if they are adding fixes or something I would like to have them.

Has anyone else noticed that songs from Morrowind are littered all over the score for Skyrim?

Also, smithing and enchanting for the win (see attached)

Yeah, theres a mod that can remove those songs, dont know why you would though.

The 2 things which confuse me in this game are textures and shadows.

I've sufficiently tweaked my .ini to remove the 'block-like' shadows which flickered every 20 seconds or so as if someone was turning venetian blinds...

But I can't figure out the textures.

Take this screenshot for example:

It's a 'room' with no doors. The interior textures would be ok by my standards, but the exterior ones which show the outer part of the room's walls are hideous.

My settings are set for 'high textures'. So why do I get a mix of high and low textures?

Thats weird, I don't think I have ran across anything looking that bad.

I have no idea, Marineborn. But it's updating at 19KB/s. After about 20 minutes it's at 1%
When Steam is busy it has dropped as low as 6.5KB/s when Steam is not it goes up to about 65KB/s (I have a 512Kb/s service).

my retail disc tried to do that too. steam servers were busy when i tried the disc install (to verify files) and when i tried minutes later it started downloading the whole thing.

I deleted the local files from steam, put the disc in again and it installed off the disc in minutes, downloaded the update and i was playing.

sorry to say you probably didn't need to let it download, you could have reset it and installed it all from disc. as soon as i saw 5gb being downloaded (knowing the game was 5gb) i cancelled it and found a solution - and it would have only taken an hour for me to dl :)

good luck. i'd backup the files from steam online and then delete them in the app, re install. it should go from disc and take minutes. there will be the matter of the patch but at this point...

there was a patch, but it was small (don't remember size, sorry)

I'll try redoing it. Thanks digi.

I told steam to delete local files and then Steam stopped responding.

Anyone else using uthgerd as a companion? She never seems to die and I quite like her character too

11.11 drivers are expected to come out today 15th. I am hoping there is something in there for Skyrim, so far they've only mentioned a CAP for skyrim which has no ETA :(

Seems to be working, Digi. If you come to Wisconsin I will buy you a Prime Rib dinner and all the beer you can drink. :toast:

That would make no difference, Shogo, there are times when loading pages on TPU time out.

It installed everything from the disk.
It's now doing the "small update" (which it says is at 96%) and dropped to 6KB/s AHAHAHAAHHHHHHHHHHH
I hate computers, I hate the internet, I'm going to give it all up and go install a lift kit in my Jeep or something. lol
