Thermal Paste sweet spot or ??

So i reset my cpu and here are my load temps after 5min of running the AIDA64 stress test, Now i wish i can get all my temps like core 2 :laugh:

Lap the top of the IHS flat looks like maybe a few cores are getting better contact

Must be pretty warm/hot in Australia I get better temps then that with my 2500k and H80/Antec 920 setup and im overvolted too and clocked a lot higher. bit dissapointing that a 240mm rad cant outcool a 120mm one.

I had a lapped xeon once and core temperatures were still different, I think some just run a wee bit hotter sometimes.

Or the inside of the IHS has uneven contact and not much you can do about that : [

Well temps before i reset it were around about the same on each core, Also it is hot here 27-35c room temp and your cpu is only a 4 core with no HT

so temps will be a lot lower.

Since 1366 Intel procs have had permanently uneven core temps. Think it has something to do with the memory controller.

What CPU I had is irrelevant, I was merely pointing out that different core temperatures with intel cpus is quite normal.

imho core temps like that look fine different cores will pull slightly different watts and the cpu is made to acomodate this hence you will not get many cpus with all even temps, i lapped my q6600 and its big block EK waterblock, smooth as due to a 10 degree diff and i got it down to 8, most of the time

on that 1 side was simply better then the other(split die) yours is a similar thing on one die

Temps will be cooler ether way also voltages will be lower because your cpu isnt running as many cores my temps are normal for this model of CPU temps would be better if i had 4 fans installed on my H100 but i just don't have the room in my case

No need to do anything. 6c is not a big deal and is quite normal for most Intel chips to have that kind of difference in core temperatures.

Just installed my 2 XtraFlo PWM Fans here my temps with a room temp of 26c after 5min of running AIDA64 these fans really did help my temps a far bit?

Some time down the line you should grab some 1850rpm gentle typhoons :toast:

Best ratio of CFM/Pressure/noise levels/price for radiators IMO.

( and they rank pretty high up there on independent reviews)

That is actually their only downside :laugh:

Can never find them for sale here either, can find the lower RPM models but never the 1850s, although they do turn up when I don't have the money to spend :laugh:
