head to skyrim nexus, look at the mod you want, instructions follow instructions on a per mod basis


Most of them you simply move folders to the appropriate location.

Others require more work but that's what the instructions are for.

i recommend downloading the nexus mod manager, and using that. most mods have a "download with manager" option, and it's imo a much easier way of handling all those files.

Yeah though Kurgan shied me away from that, at least at that point a couple few weeks ago, for a good, specific reason(s) which I can't quite remember now. Maybe he can fill us in again...

Here it is:

Oooh, just found a divorce mod. Fortunately it's just a script that you run from the console and doesn't involve all the hassle of a real divorce.

I also found another tip -- if you can't clean your house in Windhelm from the blood and body-parts go in the console and type df492.disable

I just got another bug. I just did the companions quest and returned back to whiterun. When I left whiterun I saw a dragon and went after it. I went to draw my weapons and couldn't. I couldn't do anything i.e no menu, wait, attack or jump. I decided to load a previous save and seen I'm now a skeever. I'm afraid to leave whiterun now just to be turned back again.

Anyone see if theres a fix to this or a way around it? I've been googling my butt off trying to figure it out.

I've heard that if you get sneaking up to lvl 100, then after some time it bugs up and although you get to 101 and 102 it's like if you got back to level one.

Did anyone encounter this?

Friday and 11:00pm here, and still Bethesda's 4GB LAA fix isn't up on Steam. (They said it would be up by the end of the week)

I could play using the mod on the Nexus, but that makes my AMD driver not optimize for crossfire

At 2560x1440 all on ultra with 8xAA and 16xAF forced through Catalyst Control Converter, with the LAA fix I get low fps but no crashes. Without the LAA fix I get high fps but with lots of crashes to desktop. If I install any texture mod I won't be able to play for more than five minutes.

I am missing my mods. I'm running the game vanilla, I'm not even using the 'no blocky faces one'..

Have you tried this perhaps?
It works for me, should do the trick for 59xx series too, you could force a profile with RadeonPro too

things like rings,enchants to your armour,amulets that increase your stealth % can really help

You can't fast travel if you've got too much crap with you.

You can if you're on a horse.

-exe The games original executable. If not an absolute path Skyrim4GB
will look for the executable in the Skyrim directory using paths
that should be in the registry.
Default is TESV.exe.

-laaexe The executable created by the loader that has the LAA flag set.
This must not be the same file as the original executable.
* If this is an absolute path the file will be created using that
exact path.
* If the path starts with .\ the exe will be created relative to
the directory containg Skyrim4GB.
* Otherwise it will be created relative to the original executable.
Default is the original exe with .4gb appended to the end

-SteamAppID The SteamAppID id to use. Default is 72850

-nolaa Don't set the LAA flag or unset it if it was already set in the
original executable.

-noskse Disable attempting to load SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender)

-extradll An extra dll to load into the laaexe process after its been
created. This can be specified multiple times to load more than one
dll.

-- Anything after this will be passed as is to the game when the
loader creates the process.

Examples

Skyrim4GB.exe -laaexe .\TESV.exe
Create a LAA Exe called TESV.exe in the directory containing Skyrim4GB.
This is probably what you'd want to do if you need some other application
to detect TESV.exe loading, not TESV.exe.4gb

I've read on the web that Skyrim is very CPU-Bound and that the main thing that is stressing the CPU is shadows...

Is this correct?

Also, should I decide to turn off the shadows (or reduce shadow quality). Do you guys think it will relieve the CPU enough to allow for a higher FPS ???

Yes, shadows are rendered by the CPU at this stage and thus removing them you'd see an FPS increase, anyway your CPU is up to the task.
I suppose you are having troubles in cities, right?

Well...

- All my settings are maxed
- Most of my .ini files are tweaked for MAX image quality
- I'm HEAVILY modded

And since I've installed the "lush trees" and "lush grass" and "skyrim Flora Overhaul" mods, I've seen a little FPS decrease...

Enough for me to consider turning off shadows. With the Rig I have, I expect to play everything maxed @ a solid 60 FPS, but this game is poorly optimized...

so I'm thinking "heck... if I turn off shadows and reduce the amount of stress on the CPU to achieve a solid 60 FPS (everywhere) with all the beautiful texture mods I have, why not?..."

Have you touched the uGrids setting? And if so which value have you given it?
uGrids has a huge impact on FPS, especially if you increase it over 7.

And yes, turning off shadows would increase performance but at which visual cost? I know that shadows are pixelated but I wouldn't play without them, it's a personal matter, anyway

It wasn't loading all my texture packs. I started double checking and a lot of them weren't being loaded, so I stopped using it. It is in beta and maybe that is fixed now though.
