NOT Dead WD6400AAKS, but problem drive enclosure
See UPDATE below... seems it's an Antec MX-1 drive enclosure problem...
Go figure, yesterday windows was reporting all sorts of delayed write errors on my WD6400AAKS backup hard drive.
Used WD Lifeguard:
Smart Status and Quick Test OK
Full Test: After about 15 minute reported "Too Many Bad Sectors to Continue"
Checked on WD support site: WD6400AAKS-65A7B0 Out of Limited Warranty 7/5/2011† Upgrade
I thought this drive had a 5-year warrantee when I bought it, or am I dreaming? It's the BLACK version... I have the original receipt fom 6-24-2008
I have 2 500 GB Drives I'm going to use as backup for now.
Got to decide on a new drive, any suggestions?
