Hi everyone have been on/off from hardware world for quite some time.
But I'm back for a little upgrade most likely CPU/GPU I currently have the Biostar 780G AM2+ board which i can not test (last time screen was blank and fans were spinning) and a GA-G31M-ES2L (lga775).
I also have the little hd4670 I want another ati/amd card but with same +/- TDP as this one, as I can not get a new PSU too... :banghead:
For the CPU I'm thinking of either a Phenom II 920 which is only $88 (new, tray)weird but if the board doesn't work I'll have to get an Intel and I have not idea which one, as the "best/most expensive" I've seen in shops around here is the Pentium Dual Core E6xxx something...
Thanks in advance everyone :toast:

Depends on what are your needs, concerning computer usage. If it's for light gaming, just get that Phenom II you looked at and pick up a graphics card with one PCI-E 6pin connector (HD 6770/ GTX 550Ti). That way you won't have to upgrade your PSU, as the hardware won't blow it up.

Could always use the Techpowerup market place and get a used Core 2 duo/quad. Q6600's are going for $70-$90 these days. As for graphics in the same tdp range, it looks like 5670/6670 would be the only AMD upgrades.

What exactly is your budget? And what hardware do you have (if its not working don't list it)

We will be glad to build you a Frankenstein

Your probably looking at a C2D 8XXX / Q9400 and a 5770 But it depends on how much money you have

There is also many many quad core AMD cpu's in TPU market like phenom II 955,965,940 around 100$ down to 80$.

The 940/955/965 still "kick ass", the one I have runs everything @ max with no problems.

That's probably because you run 3 graphics cards lol.
Again replying to the OP: pick up a quad core cpu, doesn't matter which one Intel or AMD. Any of them will run a 150W TDP graphics card no problem.
