I'd keep the 7900GTX and I own a X1900XT 256mb, so no bias from me. Both cards have their strong points, but the extra 256 of ram would be the difference maker for me. Just my .02

The 7900GTX is certainly a faster card
The X1900XT is intended to compete against the 7900GT anyways.

Im not sure the point of this price debate but check price grabber and see if Im not correct. Anyway thx for the impute you gave and im not sure you really are a retailer since you cannot even give me a ballpark for a whole sale price. Also I believe the price is high due to the now rarity of this card. You know my views Trt, dont get too hung up on the shader thing as there are plenty of modern games that the 7900GTX beats the 1900XT at some games just prefer more pipelines, some more shader engines, its all down to the architecture of the game, take Fear for example.

To me as I said in our PM's in 3D Marks I think the 7900GTX would have the edge and is probably the faster card versus the IQ and HDR/AA running simultaneously, personally haveing both ATi (1800XT 740/900) and 7900GTO (a GTX @ 710+/840) I do not see a great IQ difference but the 1900XT has probably better IQ than the 1800, although the 1800 still beats the 1900 in some benches

Sell both the cards......I'll sell you a brand new 1800XT you pocket some cash but I would never sell the GTO!!

Depends on which X1900 you are comparing to
The X1800XT do have more pipes than a X1900GT, but the X1900XT and X1800XT both have 16 pipes.
So I doubt that the X1800XT will beat a 1900XT, since the X1900XT have 3 times as many shaders than a X1800XT.

When i get home I'll post a couple of links to some game benches that are not so shader dependant where the 1800XT at least matches, and in one beats (albeit just) the 1900XT, as I said, the extra shaders only really work to their max potential in games that are more heavily dependant on that architecture, there are plenty that dont and they tend to lose a little of their advantage then. Its very much the same song as the 7900GTX versus 1900XT, there are arguments for both, dependant on what games you tend to play, in 2005/2006they are pretty even although generally, in higher res the 1900XT tends to fair a little better.

ohhh and I thought it would be obvious what model I was refering to, its the 1900XT 256MB as that is the card Trt has! D

They are pretty close to eachother in various games.
I would say the 512MB memory from the 7900GTX could be the reason to choose this card over the other.
