All of the 9 series AMD motherboards do not have IDE channel or just some of them? I wish this legacy interface had been wiped as soon as possible, i can not run any hard and solid drivers in AHCI mode even though i do everything in order, always getting random BSOD. My friend has 990FX board, and there is no IDE channel, only RAID and AHCI options, he never gets any BSOD with the same SSD.

990FX is too expensive for me, but if a 990X motherboard possess same hard drive management features, i will be replacing my 890GX pretty soon.

This is the only 990FX board I have seen with a PATA interface.

ASRock 990FX Extreme 4

But I have the same question Ron does. What makes you think it is IDE related?

Because i get BSOD only when i enable AHCI from IDE - it occours working in Windows (might take a day even). After BSOD, i restart and the PC does not recognize my SSD. Then i restart again, go to BIOS i switch back to IDE, restart, and do not get BSOD.

you need to enable ahci in windows from registry first.

thats wat i think.

Of course i did this - i get BSOD with changed settings (even though i am not supposed to get BSOD after registry tweak).
