Literally Ive upgraded most things that needed upgrading and ive got my rig to where it is now - what i would call 'the pinnacle of performance' for my rig. Ive got a fast SSD, Ive got plenty of storage and ive got water cooling albeit a self contained loop and dual 6970s to boot which gives me loads of grunt for gaming

theres very little that needs to be done imo, but my hands are getting itchy and i want to upgrade something.

I could buy 2x 22" monitors for eyefinity and have my current NEC monitor in the middle, or I could sell off my 6970s for either dual 7950's or a single 7970 even.

those are really the only few ideas i can really come up with and ive been thinking about it for a better part of 2 weeks.

So....ask yourself....

What would Jesus you do??

Get one of the new 24' Dell Ultrasharp IPS panels that have insanely good performance across the board?

Hell no - not dealing with them scumbags.

Get one of the new 24' Dell Ultrasharp IPS panels that have insanely good performance across the board?

the 2x20" monitors i was planning to buy were IPS too. but i'll look into it. im on a 23" monitor and going from that to a 24" seems like a waste of money especially when my current monitor is fine

by all means - keep the ideas rolling, Id like to hear what you all think

They just got bought out by Caseking. Aftersales support should improve. Not that I ever had any problems with them myself. They replaced a DOA 8800GT 1GB on the spot and refunded me when the replacement was DOA too, no questions asked.

I will wait until i hear good things about them first - but for the time being i refuse to deal with them.

there have been too many negative reviews on the net about them for god knows how long.

Full water loop then.... you seem to have everything else in there

not a bad plan ,with blocks on them gpu,s you do get some oomph and a bit of sh for the/a lot of money:)

two other slightly similar ideas 1, revo hybrid 1Tb pciex drive for games and storage

and;) or something like an ocz synapse cache drive or another brand do something similar cant rem tho im clearly ocz blinded:D

water cooling is worth considering. as for the Revo hybred, good idea but I dont have the space for it with the dual gpu's the only vacant or unobstructed pci-ex port is where my Xonar is.

I'll have a look into water cooling. sadly this case isnt very watercool friendly and i dont have the skills or tools to mod it so a dual or tripple rad would need to be mounted externally which creates a little more hassle...WIth that in mind ive been looking at this aquaduct 240 PRO mark III

there are 360 versions available.

:EDIT:

or a Koolance EXT-440CU

Or Koolance Exos (EX2-1050BK) 2.5

The only thing you don't have is really a full water loop since you are nowhere near needing better GPU's when it is near impossible to need anything better than even dual 6950's unless you are running some crazy eyefinity.

Eyefinity is really about all you have left unless you get that case Chromed or powdered coated. Or maybe a Hello Kitty sticker

if you are going to do liquid cooling what about a Thermaltake Bigwater? Sorta a intro into liquid cooling. I have not used one, nor have ever done liquid cooling but the bigwater gives you a CPU block but you could also liquid cool the GPUs because if you wanted to mod them to accept liquid cooling.

Ive watercooled an older rig. watercooling is nice but i dont think i need it.

Already working on it, I got some ONKYO HT-S5405B's in the works

eyefinity would be a cool idea - as far as chromed or powder coating goes, theres not many places here in the UK where you can do that.

awww... well back to the drawing board :(

saw a lot of decent reviews for it though, the most complaints were from Sub emitting a low/quiet buzzing sound but that was about it.

can you recommened a good quality set for the same price of the ONKYO's? Im looking at around £350 which is basicly around $550

Buy separate components. look for a AV receiver first with the options you need. Pass through, fast switching, Analog to HDMI Upconversion
nice DAC. Try them out. Then look at speakers even if you just get three to start. Its what I did. Then I bought two more used Bostons for back speakers. I ended up getting a yamaha RX v571 $340 usd on sale.

If you like Onkyo
ONKYO HT-RC360 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver

that will eventually end up costing a lot more. where as i love my music and movies, £350 is already pushing what im really willing to pay for sound quality.

the other option is i should just keep my Logitech Z-5500's and get a good set of cans for personal use instead of speakers

Looking at the pic on newegg of the Z-5500 the speakers ( might of changed since you got yours ) just use wire so you could use them on the AV till you can get better ones. Which MAY leave you enough for a separate sub or close if lucky from ebay.

Or just use the one you plan to get and upgrade the speakers\sub next or the year after which is what i did to keep the cost down originally.

Any chance you have a Richersounds or a Superfi or some kind of hifi shop near you ?.. maybe one of those are a worth looking into.. And hopefully they have a sound room to test shit in..

But be warned you might like it more than you thought..
