In Windhelm you go into Aventus Aretino's home you should hear villagers talking about him trying to summon the Dark Brotherhood.

Can someone help me with why the mods I subscribe to on Steam Workshop aren't getting in my game?

If you haven't resolved your issue with mods from the Steam Workshop how are you starting up your Syrim? I know that mine only load/update when I use the launcher so I have to make sure I start that up every day or two and in the bottom right corner of the launcher it will say what mods it is downloading/installing and such.

Can you show me a screenshot please?

I do have some mods which worked (arrowsmith for example), I see the esp file enabled. But not most of the others.

I can play the game through the launcher just fine.

Not at home right now, if you installed arrowsmith through the steam workshop then I have no idea why the others would not work since all you should have to do is bring up the Skyrim Launcher to get them working as far as i know

A new beta update just downloaded (1.4.27) and now SKSE doesn't work again.

I didn't understand what Darkleoco says I should be seeing at the bottom right of the launcher...

There are still issues with Steam and the mods. I recommend using NMM and doing it the old fashion way.

I prefer to manually install mods even if it does complicate removing them, NMM may be nice but when you have 70 + manually installed mods its not really worth switching imo unless their is some secret fix to import them into NMM

I have had nothing but problems using the mods via the steam workshop. I went back to NMM and have been happy ever since.

I kind of cringed when they announced the Steam Workshop for mods, but I did not want to make any judgements until it went live. Using Steam a repository for the modders is a noble goal and perhaps in the future they will have all the bugs worked out. In the meantime I will get my mods from the Nexus and use NMM.

Speaking of bugs, the CK, as it stands right now, is only good for casual mods (like players homes and little projects). If you have visions of creating something grand you are going to need a lot of 3rd party tools to perform even some of the basic tasks of world(space) generation. There also some in-game bugs that will stop a large mod dead in it's tracks with no workarounds.
Just a heads-up for anyone getting into modding Skyrim.

Anyway, I've found that my new Nord has basically two states. Butt-kicking, God-sent savior of all people in the province of Skyrim or dead, rotting flesh bag.

I've been having fun pickpocketing. After I ridded whiterun of guards, (I know its temporary, buts its fun while it lasts.) I decided to pickpocket the clothes of of everyone who says anything rude to me. This requires a great deal of manual saving. I had Mjoll as my sidekick, and when someone caught me pickpocketing she killed them and 5 other people within 10 seconds, one swing each. I was so happy with her amazing twohandedness that I had to marry her; after I resurrected all the people she so dextrously killed

Having fun with smithing and other crafts just to break it up a bit.

There are some spells in Illusion magic that causes the target to randomly attack anyone close to them. This usually escalates extremely rapidly to Guards VS Everyone

Doing an alternate playthrough with some role-playing. Lenneth Teir'Dal, Dunmer, came to Skyrim after being forced from Morrowind. First impression was being arrested and sentenced to death without a trial. Surviving that she traveled to see her kin in Windhelm only to find slums, oppression and hate crimes.

After enduring one too many deregatory comments from both guards and civilians she finally snapped and decided to join the Dark Brotherhood to start the murder.

Destruction magic + sneak, hellishly hard to be an assassin lol

Yes. Your last 50MB of save games are being saved on Steam Cloud.

I don't see much point when I have a My Games save folder which I back up on to my storage HDD.

Just found the upload to Steam cloud option in The Elder Scrolls Properties which can be ticked or unticked.

It's not flying, it climbed up that tree and is standing on top for a better view.

I had an interesting one. When I killed a dude his head got stuck in a jail cell door.
When you opened or closed the door the body ragdolled back and forth.
Not being one to miss a chance to roleplay, I stood there opening and closing the door yelling, "Who's your daddy now, b****?"

I think I'll write a book called, "How game bugs can add to your roleplaying experience."
