Don't get the G.Skill mem, I have the RipJawX 1333MHZ CL7 1.5v set but it overclocks poorly, over 1600MHZ 9-9-9-27 1.65v not stable.

My 1600mhz G.skill overclocks to 1900mhz 8-9-9-24 and even 2133mhz with loose timings. So it must just be the 1333mhz ram thats shite.

And Jbunch, dont be so persuadable, you shouldn't just take every single person's opinion like its a hard fact, do some research, wait for other people's opinions etc.. always take everything on the internet with a grain of salt, including this. :)

Since he choose the 1333MHZ set, and i have that set I just gave him advice, although the memory has tight timings and low voltage it doesn't overclock well.

They're low profile too- no fit issues if you do go with a D-14 cooler

Sorry, I couldn't help it ;)

Consider this power supply as well, it's 600w modular bronze, 12v rail, and $79.99 > $59.99 after MIR:

That is 80 plus and good for sli or Xfire and good for 900w actually.
Yeah, no reason to upgrade from that unless you really wanted modular or gold/platinum.

@jbunch07

FYI- I'm doing the build in the Silverstone PS-07 right now and was able to stuff ALL of the wiring of a Corsair TX 750 (non-modular) behind the mobo tray... the only wiring showing is/are the ends of the connectors :toast: You would have to try real hard mess up cable management on this case, I don't even think it's possible :D

One caution on these two Silverstone models- use non-modular PSU's only as there is limited room between the PSU and optical drive.

Another plus on these- you can put a graphics card in almost as long as the case itself. This would fit a 4870X2, 5970, or a 6990 with the big AC cooler no problem.

Will put up a few pics in a couple of hours

Thanks Norton but I've decided to go with a different route for the case log coming soon!

So this is what I ended up with.
Because of some last minute budget constraints I had to cut back in some areas. :(

CPU:
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Tu...

MOBO:
Open Box: ASUS P8Z68-M Pro LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI...

SSD/HDD
OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-60G 2.5" 60GB SATA III M... (boot)
2x320GB 7200rpm 16mb cache HDDs for storage...perhaps a raid array?

MEM:
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM D...

GPU:
TO be decided once 78xx comes out
Intel hd 3000 until then

PSU:
750w PC Power and Cooling

Monitor:
Samsung Syncmaster T240HD 1920x1200

Cooling:
Will be a custom loop with a Swiftech MCP655-B pump, 240 Radiator and a Apogee GTZ water block.

I will have 4 of these fans cooling the case prob 2 on rad and 2 on the other side of the case. XIGMATEK XLF-F1253 120mm 4 white LED Orange Case F...
They are decent fans with a unique color, quiet and move a decent amount of air 61cfm iirc.

Still contemplating using a 220mm for an exhaust fan but we'll see.

Over all I think it will be a pretty solid build any thoughts and comments are appreciated but please remember I have already bought this stuff and its on the way so please don't say you should have bought this or don't buy that as it will only make me upset:mad:
Thanks :toast:
