What exactly is wrong with my pc?

So I'm having more computer problems :c. It booted up fine, but It was slow and programs were crashing, so I decided to just reboot. It took 10 mins to get past the bios screen and it gave me an error saying there was no windows installed. I went into bios and it didn't find my 250 gig main boot drive. I think it's just the HDD, what do you guys think it is?

Gonna say the same thing. Try downloading hirens boot cd and try the memtest and HDD test with the minixp that it has.

That software is a lifesaver! It has so many programs on it to do testing and junk with its unreal! Its pulled me out of a jam more that I can count. I have a USB thumbdrive dedicated to it.

Above suggestions are good.

It's important that you boot some other OS and test it there.
Hiren's or Ultimate boot CDs are good for this.
If they lack drivers to recognise your hardware correctly, use bootable Ubuntu CD or USB and carry on testing using any Linux based tools.

IF you have a spare 512MB or higher thumbdrive, you can load hirens as a bootable USB

Guessing a failing HDD. If you can plop it into another PC, run Seatools or WD diagnostics on it.

Check your SATA cable- swap it with the one from your optical drive and see if it makes a difference....

Yup the HDD is dead, I luckily have a back up and I just put it on an old hard drive. I just need to get a new hdd nao :3 Thanks for all the help guys!
