Ok, like the title says, this is a contest to win a free copy of Hard Reset, via Steam. I won an extra copy during the holiday stuff on Steam a while back, and I really don't need a 2nd copy lol. I haven't redeemed it yet, its still tradable, i.e. I can gift it to someone on Steam.
This is my first contest... so I'm a newb at this lol. Anyways... Hard Reset is supposed to be a throw back to the good old days of PC gaming. Therefore, we'll do it based on that. Upload an ingame/recorded video of you playing one of your favorite old-school games... I guess any game at least 8 yrs old, with some commentary about how you feel about the game, why you like it, etc.. and compare it with newer games. If you can't record video, a series of screenies will do.
To enter, simply put in the title "(usernamehere) wants to enter!" along with your old school gaming experience I talked about above, and I will add it to a list on this, the OP, at a later time. After about... oh I guess a week, I'll put up a poll with the users who entered. The TPU community will then decide the winner! I look forward to the fond memories of gaming days past... and the vids/screens! More info on Hard Reset can be found -> http://store.steampowered.com/app/98400/
Good Luck!

Here ya go bruce! This game has been the love of my life (Gaming wise) since I was young! I have played the original CS since it was first released as a beta. Steam alone says I have over 600+ hours, which I know is wrong but I think they just recently started counting time in game but I know I have more than 5000+ hours in the game alone since playing in mid-late 1999. That is WON/Steam combined.
Comparision to newer games: As you can imagine, CS/HL1 does not have the GFX of the newer titles out now-a-days but the game play was unique for its time. Having to work as a team was one of the major aspects of this game. When you died, you must wait until the round has ended whether that be that all your team mates have died or your objective was completed. This spawned a huge following of online competitions and leagues. The first league I had the privilege to play in was CAL (Cyber Athletic League) and I started in their OPEN catagory but one our team ranked up (-{DUG}- Digital Underground) we were introduced into the MAIN section of the competition. After that I had to take a break from the game due to joining the ARMY in 2004 but started soon after graduation of basic training with CSS (Counter Strike: Source). This was a game that was clunky and had piss poor hit registry. I have always went back to the tried and true CS as the versions went from beta-1.0-1.6
This game is still one of my favorite of choice in any online FPS category. For anyone who HAS NOT played this game and want to know what the feel of a real old school competitive FPS is then steam has the combo pack (Counter Strike 1.6 / Counter Strike: Condition Zero) for 9.99$
I would like to venture back to and older style game like hard reset! Thanks bruce for giving us that opportunity
Below is me murdering in CS a while back. I can upload more if needed
