I use Win7, but if you want the highest frame rates in DX9 games or under, then use XP.

Just running with W7 x64 Ultimate for all my machines at the moment. Cant see me running anything else tbh

some people work with their pcs, and as such use software that needs every last meg their wallet allows. memory management is fine and good - but at some point i want to be able to tell the machine "i don't want this open, close it" and have it LISTEN to me. not just hide it from view because it thinks it knows what's best.

8 will be fine for 99% of people, but like vista and even 7 (though i like 7) - it will be made more difficult for "power users" to control their system , in order to let the other 99% of users not screw their system up.

it's just the way it is. i accept it, but i still don't like it.

and just fyi, i am not "that guy" i have learned the depths of many operating systems over the years, and am never shy about being an early adopter. i simply know what i like and what i don't, and i don't like most of the changes that went into 8. still, a few are the future so i have no choice.

Digi, thanks for your constructive point (genuine, not sarcasm). Try using Start8 with Windows 8, it helps you regain the control. Anyway, it is just a consumer preview after all and I'm sure alot of the issues people are currently having with the OS will be addressed. Number one being that alot of people,myself included, feel it is too geared to a touch interface with not enough flexibility.
