Hello everyone I have been a long time member and lurker (new username) of this site and I have used this site to build 2 gaming PC's in the past. I am now looking to build my 3rd gaming rig and I would like to go with water cooling this time around. I have been out of the loop for quite a while so go easy on me, also this will be my first water cooling rig EVER.

The system will be mainly used for gaming. I am undecided on my case selection right now. Currently I have the Antec Nine Hundred Two and the Antec 300. I may consider another Antec case or even a Lian-Li case.

Budget: $1500 (maybe a bit more)

Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 (ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6...) $239.99
CPU: Going to wait for Ivy Bridge
Graphics Card: XFX FX-797A-TNBC Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition 3GB (XFX FX-797A-TNBC Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition 3GB ...) $579.99
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 x2(G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR...) $59.99 x2
HDD: Patriot Pyro SE PPSE120GS25SSDR 2.5" 120GB SATA (Patriot Pyro SE PPSE120GS25SSDR 2.5" 120GB SATA II...) $159.99
Power Supply: CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX750 (CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX750 (CMPSU-750A...) $169.99
Water Cooling: As stated above I have no experience with water cooling. I am going for a quality build trying to stick with top notch components, so please throw suggestions my way. In the mean time I will continue doing research.

Total as of now: $1,269.94

What are your thoughts on this setup?

Hey Dark,

is that memory a big difference from the one I have posted? I havent been keeping up with whats hot and whats not lol

Also for CPU I wont use anything until the Ivy Bridge processors are release which shouldn't be too far away. I am in no rush really to put this together but I will start ordering soon.

For memory - since z77 is only dual channel higher speed matter and i dont think the price diff. is that big, and ofcourese is more futureproof.

So you are saying you will buy all this but the cpu ? Seems to me like a better ideea to buy all of them at once.

Ahh ok I got you now, yea I was going to but it seems like everything except the mother board should be in stock when I am ready so I may just hold off and get it all at once when the processor becomes available.

Thanks I will switch the memory to the one you suggested :D

Hi

You seem to have chosen a couple of great gaming cases primarily built for air cooling, yet you have mentioned that you would like to go with H2o [water cooling] this time around

good return on your $ for an H2o Case that will give you ample options and room to spare have a look at this in the gallery http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/crafted_series/switch_810

nb: If I did not own an Obsidian 800D I would own the Switch 810

Hi Law,

The two cases mentioned above are my current cases that I own now. Wow the 810 looks awesome I will do some reading on it thanks!

Hmm now to decide if I want to leave the all black thing I have going with my current cases and go for the white version of this case :D it seems to look more pleasing to the eye than the black one.

Depending on where you are exactly in Jersey, you can stop by a Microcenter in Paterson off route 20 North. I live basically right next to it so I can arrange some sort of purchase for you if you'd like and you can come and we do a local pickup from there :p
By the way, sick setup you got going there :D

I would recommend getting a Corsair AX 750 PSU...it does wonders for many peoples systems.
And I suggest a different SSD really, I will look up some for you.

I live down in the Jersey Shore area but its funny you mentioned Microcenter because I used to work 15 minutes away from there. Looks like Microcenter's prices are higher than Newegg's pricing.

The PSU reviews and specs look promising as well so I will go with the suggested one.

And actually I was looking to sell my SSD cuz I want something a little bigger. It's in my system specs on the left, Corsair 180GB SATA 3. It's real fast and responsive to it's rating read/write speeds.
It also has great reviews on Newegg here: Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F180GBGT-BK 2.5" 180G...
Let me know. Message me.

With the price of 2 of those, you can have my 180GB. Maybe less if you want to strike a deal with me ;)
You can just make a partition for both the OS and apps/games with a large SSD. Better too, less hassle if there is something wrong with the system.
And did I mention my SSD has the highest speeds and best size ratio of any SSD out there right now? :)
