OK guys i just got the GTX680 and Samsung S27A750D and gaming and picture quality is amazing and 120hz is so smooth but i have a problem with any video playback. it doesnt matter if its on youtube or dvd or a video i have on my pc all just play stuttery and jerky.
my 2nd monitor is a 60hz samsung P2350 23" which is a good lcd. now i only get this problem if i make my new samsung S27A750D the main monitor, if i swap to my other monitor in the settings and make my old monitor the main one then i can watch movies, videos and youtube clips as smooth as they used to be. so even if i use my new 120hz monitor connected via display port its fine as long as its not set as my main monitor but as i said if i swap it to main monitor and then use either my new 120hz monitor or my old 60hz monitor the playback is stuttery and jerky ?????
old monitor connected with dvi.
anyone any ideas ?
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH NEW GTX680 GRAPHICS CARDS AND THE SAMSUNG S27A750D MONITOR. ONLY THE LATEST NVIDIA BETA DRIVERS WILL WORK IF YOU TRY AND USE LATEST NORMAL DRIVERS JUST BEFORE THE DESKTOP COMES UP UR MONITOR WILL BE BLACK AS IF IT WASNT CONNECTED. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE DISPLAY PORT. WHY OH WHY WOULD YOU PUT DISPLAY PORT AND HDMI ONLY SAMSUNG WHATS WRONG WITH DVI :(

there is also under same section adjust desktop size and position which has better control over the monitors. here u can choose the resolution and refresh rate of each monitor which i have on 120hz and 60hz and both are in 1920x1080.
also another bad thing has happend 2 times in game so far. screen just went black like u have unplugged the display port cable and it says something about wrong resolution but it isnt and u have to press the button on the base unit to select hdmi and then again togo back to display port and then ur screen comes back on.
if i cant solve any of these then i might be forced to send it back and get the Samsung S27A950D but that will have more back light bleed in bottom right hand corner where this monitor has only small amounts which are not a problem at all.

Hi

looks like a driver issue; these same questions are starting to pop up on the www as adoption of the hardware becomes popular.

" Q; I am using a DisplayPort monitor with GeForce GTX 680 and the monitor is not detected.

NVIDIA is aware of a compatibility issue with a few DisplayPort monitors and the GeForce GTX 680 with v301.10 drivers where the monitor may not be detected. We plan for this to be resolved in our upcoming Release 300 unified driver. Affected displays include the Lenovo LT2452p and Samsung S23A750, S27A750, LS23A950 & LS27A950."

ive just read its something to do with the monitor telling the driver is a 1.2display port when its only a 1.1 display port and that is why everyone is having this problem.
this is my 1st day with this monitor and apart from these problems the picture and gaming in 120hz is amazing and not much back light bleed so i have 6 more days i can keep then i have to send back for refund or exchange for a different monitor but the only other one i want would be the S27A950D but people talk about the back light bleed getting worse after a month or so where the monitor is pulling on the bottom right due to stand design grrrrrrrrr :banghead: why did they not just put a dvi connection on this one ? damn you samsung what were you thinking :banghead::shadedshu

why oh why on gods green earth would you use DP connection when you have a DVI connection
ive just ordered the S27A950D which i should get tomorrow to try out and if i dont get too much back light bleed from the bottom right hand corner i think i will be keeping it.
how long have you had ur monitor and has the back light bleed got worse in the bottom right hand corner from when you 1st got it ?

i still have to say the picture quality and gaming on the S27A750D really is amazing and i dont see any other monitor being better than this for picture and gaming.

DP is better than DVI-D, DVI is on its end of its life span.

ive heard there is no difference in picture and movement quality and DP has all the problems like losing signal to ur monitor as ur playing ur game so u have a black screen until u reset it and when i 1st installed the nvidia drivers i couldnt even get it to work just a black screen but just by pure luck the day before i got it nvidia came out with beta drivers that worked but i have this video playback problem and it still cuts out on me now and then and the internet is full of people with the DP losing signal and saying that not optimal resolution msg. i hope to god dvi doesnt go soon.

DP has more head room it mite not matter much right now but i also find DP cleaner to use than the big old DVI plug, Also if your getting drop outs using it then you mite want to RMA your card because DP runs solid for me.

DVI is dead if you are using DVI and having issues ... well thats your problem
for the sake of argument tho make sure you don't have some Low power clock buggie`nes going on

dvi for me :nutkick:been using it all day now and not a single problem. samsung shame on you for ditching the dvi in fav of DP think of all those sales you could have made for people with graphics cards with no DP connection. i mean its not like its old cos i had an MSI GTX580 and that was only 11 months old with no DP connection.:shadedshu
