I am going to be going off to college in the fall and am in the process of looking for a good gaming laptop that is preferably under $1500 though this budget may stretch more depending on what I find, I have been looking at most of Asus's lineup but pricewise they don't really fit that bill lol.
What I want/need:
-1920x1080 (need)
-Minimum 4GB of RAM preferably 6-8
-DvD drive/burner to handle school needs
-obviously graphical power for a gaming laptop lol
-Intel preferably i5 or i7
-decent battery life/power saving features would be great lol
-Have decent heat management
What I do not need:
-blu-ray
-included ssd
-anything that is super flashy like my g50 is.
I also have no interest in 3D or blu-ray on a laptop unless it comes in a generally affordable laptop that fits my needs. While I am at school I will generally be playing BF3, MW3 and Skyrim. Also the size/weight of the laptop makes no difference to me whatsoever after my G50
I am also wondering whether I should be looking to actually buy now or not since I assume that Ivy Bridge and 600/7000 series gpus are going to become standard on newer gaming laptops?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated TPU!!!
