habit usually says if you are going to start to peel it apart to clean the cooler of dust and debris, why not. If the card isn't showing any signs of overheating or doesn't look dirty, don't bother.

Has the temperature outside gone up as these temperatures have increased? 9 degrees is a lot but ambient temperatures could do that to a card. Pull it out and inspect it. If it looks dirty, clean and re-apply TIM to it. If it looks clean, look into better case fans or leaving the side of the case off.

I also got two 200mm intake fans working for me!

Do i have to unistall the driver before taking it out? Anyone any tips on applying thermal paste.

I am thinking of Artic Silver MX-2.

As Sneeky said, the ambient temperature makes a big difference, since the cooling effect of any fan is only an offset of the ambient temperature.

Just as important is any dust inside the cooler that's blocking the air flow. Let it get thick enough and the heat will get high enough to kill the card and the fan will be spinning uselessly fast and loud.

Take the card outside and blow through the cooler with an air line if you can get hold of one. If not, just use your breath, but be careful not to breath the dust, as it's quite choking and unpleasant.

EDIT: the dust can also be harmful for asthmatics, triggering a bad attack.

Use the right sized screwdriver. If its a reference card the screws tend to want to strip easily. I always use the perfect sized driver and a variable speed drill to remove those coolers- haven't messed up a screw yet :D

I blow the dust of my machine/GPU every month (due to the Antec Skeleton "dust" case)
and after 1½ year my temps start raising (idle from 32 to 39 degrees)
I took af the cooler and replaced the paste with MX5 - and voila - back to 30/31 degrees.
(I had a GIGABYTE GTX 580 with windforce 3 cooler)

Wonder what thermal paste´s AIB´s use - the originale paste on mine was hardened
and could almost bee pealed of by fingernails.....
