Why you should buy an A/C

look at my pc specs, before i bought an A/C i could only overclock my hd7970 to 1050 and it would be 60C while folding, now i can fold at 1200MHz@54C with an A/C and it keeps my room cool and keeps the overall pc cool

hmm... my pcs without the a/c would make my room 100F even in the winter which is 38C.... so i can afford to use an A/C.. i run 2 pcs and my old monster is my heater

actually no.... because the a/c was only 109$ and it covers the full pc and me and the cooling i want for teh gpu cost 139$ by itself btw i have the Frigidaire 5,000BTU A/C has 130 good reviews

actually no.... because the a/c was only 109$ and it covers the full pc and me and the cooling i want for teh gpu cost 139$ by itself btw i have the Frigidaire 5,000BTU A/C has 130 good reviews

and it costs how much to run? for that price it must be very inefficient.

i cant see how it would harm anyone unless you keep the temps way too cold/hot witch may make you sick...... or not cleaning the filters witch may hold a lot of bacteria...

its possible that its true, but im sure 38C averatge room temp is more harmful to humans than a constantly running A/C, even at night time my room was 32C

yeah i got a bsod when i thought just cause ibought an a/c that my pc was capable of god like clocks... my pc froze when my hd7970 was at 1300MHz no bsod.. but instant bsod when i oced 3700k to 5.0GHz... instead ofo being worried i just laughed cause i knew that was stupid..., but my gpu bsod'ed every 4 hours at 1075MHz i found that 1050MHz was the sweet spot <-- with no A/C, now i can 24/7 stable fold at 1200MHz which is AmAzInG with a stock referance cooler

If you are concerned about mounting a window unit in your windows, or have crank style windows like I do, you can consider a unit like this: SOLEUS AIR KY80 8,000 Cooling Capacity (BTU) Porta... (yeah, who knew newegg sold A/C units).

They are sealed refrigeration units, so essentially no more harmful than your refrigerator in your kitchen.

Also, if you are really cheap:

It costs about $15 assuming you already have the fan and really works, I used to do it in my college dorm all the time(stupid college wouldn't give us A/C but gave us an ice machine). It cooled the dorm room down about 10°F, which does make a noticeable different in PC temps.

5000 BTUs barely cools my bedrooom let alone a computer.
I also live in a brick house (oven).

There's people that don't have AC? How can you sleep in that heat? The PC stuff is just a bonus. When the AC is on my 580 idles at 22c, air cooled though not stock.
