The computers been running slowly for a while now, but as of yesterday it decided it would delete part of the MBR, which resulted in me spending 4 hours attempting to get the data back

Now I have finally got the computer into at least a usable state, I decided to try to find out what may be causing the computer to run slowly/crash/lose data, and I think I've found the source.

Does anyone know what a corrected machine check is?, and what may be causing a hardware error to occur 3 times every second?

That sounds like you're running without backups, tsk. A bad idea, as you've seen.

Unfortunately so, there were backups, they broke, I decided I'd fix them "later", they never got fixed

Yeah, I been there, lol. I now have two data only HDDs in raid 1 in the main rig and a separate HDD in another PC that I back up to every night or so. Even that I don't think is really safe enough.

Computer running slow? Delete the master boot! Sounds like a legit solution to me!

It was the computer that did it due to a hardware error, not the user.

What mode are your hard drives running in?
Can you perform a manufacturers test on your drives?
