What if RAM sticks get slammed?

So today I happen to caught the postman delivering my new RAM kit throwing the package(containing my new RAM kit) over the fence of my parent's house and it's slammed on to my doorstep, I immediately went outside picking up the package and I said f**k you! while the postman leaving the area so soon. I'm so pissed off, are there any possible impact from the incident?

If they're well packaged, it shouldn't matter. If they aren't, contact the retailer or look up documentation on their website about how they handle carrier damage. Some may want you to send it back, some want you to try to the product before returning it.

I remember throwing some ddr1 rams from the window from 3rd floor, nothing happened and they still worked.

to be honest probably not alot if anything happened, unless they were in some silly envelope with no padding, even then probably not alot

Anything being shipped should be packaged to survive a six foot drop, this is especially true when being shipped from a business. They should be fine.

No moving parts and if parts are moving it's defective. I'm sure they're fine but if a drop like that did ruin them I would consider them defective anyways because it's not like you dropping the chip itself on the ground, there is nothing hard for the actual memory to hit, there is some level of padding in a box and they don't weight a lot either.

i had a set of ram i sold, left it on top of my car when i went to the post office, they fell off, got ran over, and when i mailed them out, never heard back about any issues, so should be fine.

plenty vziera - no moving parts so unless they are in a plastic grocery back you should be fine. any amount of padding. you can also look for physical damage, because impact damage that doesn't leave a physical mark should never hurt flash memory, only if it's physically cracked, etc should it be an issue.

whereas a mechanical hard drive for instance, or even a video card - those have more moving parts so a spring or holder tab gets knocked out place slightly and it's broke - at least with ram sticks you can normally see the damage.

What color is that RAM under normal light? It almost looks gold, but I am thinking its like a military brown or beige. After looking at more pictures, I have no clue what color it is

It's kind of greenish gold, don't know exactly what it's called though

Don't forget to lay a complaint against the postman nothing should be delivered that way I'm pretty sure their regs require care to be taken when delivering mail

the other thing to do next time would be request signature required courier solves the problem of packages just being left/thrown on your doorstep

Then they just do the one knock/phantom knock and leave you a slip, which you sign so they leave it the next day or you end up taking to their office to pickup the package in person. Its a no win situation

That's not how it should work no human to sign the no delivery I'd be wary of using courier that operates like that

over here a courier has to leave a card to call if no one is home basically you use it to pick up the item or arrange a new delivery date/time item still has to be signed for

here you have the option to fill out a card telling them where to put a package if you are not home.

as for the ram, it should be fine
