erocker!

The original ones got to around 100hz or a bit more

then they changed the board out and now they are like 62hz

someone is making a board mod for 120hz or a bit less but they will cost more and not available yet. The old ones are still the best way to get this. There may be an upgrade available in future (yeaaah)

Source.... Please let this be true.

Yamakasi Catleap Q270 Sale Information! (85hz, 100hz, 120hz)
Hi guys. I know you've wanted details and have asked a ton of questions. Well, this is what we have so far. Here goes!

PRICE: $459.90 (shipping included)
PANEL: A- (as per standard 2B model)
SPEAKERS: Yes
PIXEL PERFECT: No (That means same chance of perfect or imperfect monitor as before. These are A- Panels! Remember that)
TEMPERED GLASS: No
INPUTS: Dual-Link DVI
OC: Depending on your Hardware and Tweaking, you'll get anywhere from 85hz (worst case scenario for supported cards, with tweaking), to 125hz (highest stable OC with no artifacts). The PCB will support this. But manufacturer specifications still state 60hz. Just as with video cards, you OC at your own discretion. And results will vary (from experience, between 85-125hz)

SHIPPING: Express (only option)
PROCESSED BY: Greensum
WARRANTY: Yes. 1 Year. Through Greensum!
AVAILABILITY: 100 This Week. More details to come about the rest later.

HOW TO GET ONE: We will be updating the e-Shop link where you can purchase the monitor. This will be a Pre-Sale. So you would pay the full price for the monitor. There will only be 100 available for purchase.
LIMITED QUANTITIES: Our shop software is being updated. There is a possibility that a "limit" will not be imposed by the shopping cart. However, we reserve the right to limit/refund excessive orders. With demand being high, we hope to aim for a 1 Monitor Per Person order FOR THIS ROUND. That means you can buy another one next week!
COUNTRY RESTRICTIONS: Some countries will be restricted from sale due to warranty/shipping issues. In the near future (week or so) we may impose extra shipping costs to those countries to allow them access to the sale. So if you're in a less-popular country, ask us before ordering as we haven't received the full list of countries yet! Lithuania, for example...is in trouble.

Update #1: For those wondering about the cost. These monitors come with a 1 YEAR WARRANTY which COVERS YOUR RETURN SHIPPING! (in most countries)

Update #2: We still have a few things to go over for when the pre-sale will start. Don't want to get into details. But if we're able to get the final details sorted, we will open the pre-sale this evening.

Update #3: For those upset at the 1 per person limit...look, we have 31 members "online right now" with hundreds more looking to buy these monitors. We just want it to be fair. And we are getting 100 per week, not per month! So it shouldn't take you all that long to get your multiple monitors!

Update #4: Bad news, I'm afraid. Lawyer and I have not been able to discuss this yet and i cant put the shop up linked to my private paypal account. As I am leaving the house, the monitors will not be put up for sale until **further notice**.. My apologies.

Update #5: What does it mean that the monitors are not "Pixel Perfect?" Well, they follow Standard A- Panel Policy which is what all the korean monitors are made from! View the picture for difference between Perfect Pixel and Standard A- Panel standards.
Picture here

Update #6: I've been informed that the first 50 monitors packing/shipping has started and will be completed in around 18 hours. The factory is having trouble meeting production numbers, however, and the next 50 will NOT ARRIVE FOR PACKING/SHIPPING UNTIL FRIDAY (Korean Time, so Thursday our time). Which means you will likely GET those monitors sometime between Wednesday to Friday of next week as I've been told they are going to pack/ship them out as soon as they arrive at the facilities.

MORE DETAILS TO COME SOON.

Mine just arrived today. Looks awesome :) IPS makes a massive difference to colours too. Loving it! Can't see any dead pixels yet too which is nice.

Quick question though - I couldn't figure out how to try higher refresh then 60hz? With windows and CCC too. The max seems to be 60 even when I untick show supported frequencies only. Do I need some 3rd party software to force a higher refresh?

Cheers

OCUK is selling DGM versions of these for around £350

They have DP as well and a 3 year warranty.

Plus you can DSR it with 14 days if it has a dead pixel lol

There's a 120Hz version?!

How is the price a turnoff? These are as cheap as 27" TN panel monitors. The turnoff for me would be the warranty or lack of it.
The old price was a turnoff when 1440p monitors cost $1000+

If it's a Yamakasi, the only version that overclocks is the 2B version. It should be printed on the back what version it is.

I owned a Catleap before, I find the colors on my LG 21.5" e-IPS to be superior to that of my Catleap. /shrug

Thats cool and all but it's 21.5" so hard to really care. I hear the Retina Displays are nice too which is about as relevant to us.

Wow, it looks like they even threw in a better stand too (it's at least height-adjustable).

I used the old VESA100 HP stand I had.
It kind of wasn't described that the monitor was VESA75 so I totally assumed my VESA100 stand would fit. had to get an adapter plate for it and screwed it from the inside of my monitor.

When you get the monitor itself apart, you notice how dirt-cheap everything is. but hey, unbeatable at this price.

The 30" model apparently complies with VESA-100 according to their pic

Hey thanks for the review.
So I will be getting one of these. I am now talking to a guy in south Korea to try and undercut the ebay sellers.
