SAPPHIRE Technology, a leading manufacturer and global supplier of graphics solutions has just announced a new low profile card in its successful HD 7000 series.

The SAPPHIRE HD 7750 1 GB Low profile model is based on the highly acclaimed Graphics Core Next architecture from AMD, and retains all the features of the HD 7700 series but in a truly low profile format. Many low profile cards use a cooler that is actually larger than the PCB format, and cannot be used in slimline cases. The SAPPHIRE solution uses a specially developed single slot cooler with an efficient ball bearing fan and heatsink design that truly follows the low profile format. This makes it ideally suited to applications like HTPCs or installation in even the slimmest styles of mini-ITX cases.

Performance is the same as other implementations of the HD 7750, with core clock speed of 800 MHz and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4500 MHz (effective). Output configuration is very flexible, including multi-monitor support for AMD Eyefinity. Its Dual-Link DVI-I, HDMI and Displayport outputs are all mounted within the low-profile backplate. This has been achieved by the use of mini-DP and micro HDMI sockets. A set of Mini-DP to DP, micro-HDMI to HDMI, and DVI-I to VGA adapters are all supplied with the card, as well as both low profile and standard height backplates.

As it is based on AMD's Graphics Core Next architecture, the SAPPHIRE HD 7750 Low Profile model supports all the demands of multi-screen applications, multi-threaded Application Acceleration with stream processing, and fast HDMI support for high resolution and stereoscopic 3D displays. It also supports all the Direct Compute features incorporated in current and next generation operating systems. But with its exclusive low profile cooler, it can achieve all of this in even the slimmest format of consumer or industrial chassis.

Is there a chart out there that compares the 4650 ddr2 to the 7750 gddr5? Would like to see how much of a boost this would create - it would be for my backup computer/htpc, so it's not an immediate upgrade for me, just something i would like to know in case prices drop in the future.

It's like back in the 4XXX series days (2008) saying a gelding (DDR2) 4650 Vs. a 4850 that now runs on PCI-E power only! How can that be compared. :toast:

The problem is I wouldn't hold out too long, these type of special offering can be limited runs. They show and then disappear like water in Death Valley when 120°F. Find it... watch it, and when to price starts to level out, grab one. ;)

Oh, I know that the 7750 is the much better as I already have - I just want a chart that actually puts a number on it for future reference, with actual gaming stats, etc.

I already have another computer, also with the 7750 in it ($299 refurb gateway i5-2320 + 8gb ram + 1tb hdd box that was upgraded with a $74 Radeon 7750 gddr5). The 4650 is in an old dell optiplex 745 (c2d 2.13 e6400, effectively 3.5 gb ram, 4650 ddr2 low profile).

Awesome. Now it's time for Palit to release a low-profile gts650, so that I can buy a card from my favourite guys from nVidia :D. But with the release of the gts650 dated 17th of September, the non-reference designs will be....quite forward in the time...oh...well at least try for February :)

This little card is a complete win in my opinion.
