You don't get it man at all LOL.

No I get it, because I know what a good monitor is. And there are monitors out there that are good.Mainly the ones that are not TN, because regardless of the PPI IPS panels are better in almost every regard then current TNs.

But Im going to go back and give suggestions to the OP like we all should be doing. Have fun stair at individual pixels of monitors.

OP, were you getting the lines with the previous card you had? Turn on Vsync and crank up the AA so it lowers the frames so that hopefully the lines(which is screen tearing) goes away.

^^ VSync and AA.

Basically ur trying to tax ur card enough so screen tearing stops. Because the "amazing" (read shit) monitor your using is making your new gpu a huge waste of money. Their is such a thing as too many frames

Thank you! :toast:

It would make sense if he got a card like a GTX460/560 for his monitor, but a 480 for a 19" monitor is a joke.

Just because it's IPS does not automatically mean it's stellar just like 1080P is not a guarantee of a quality display.

Were not talking quality non quality, were talking the card he has is overkill for his display. And this is why he gets tearing.

Your new and your talking out of your ass, you'll probably be a mod in no time with my luck.

NO you are wrong again a GTX 480 on a 19" 1024P monitor is smart decision because that means you could potentially max out every game with 60+fps min. On a 1080P monitor you would need two GTX 480s to max out the same games at 60+fps min.

Vsync fixes OPs problem and it's a dumb rational to think that a GTX 480 is to much power when it still cannot run all games maxed @ 1080P min 60+fps. OP is thinking he is having issues because he think Vysnc is not working because he is still getting tearing with it on.

Oh god you have lost all credibility with that statement.

hm,

Would you rather have 1000fps with screen tearing up the ass or 50 fps that is still very playable with no screen tearing and a better experience because monitor is bigger and more engaging?

Ill take the bigger monitor with higher resolution and all that shit for slightly less FPS.

And Screen resolution does not kill FPS nearly as much as you think. Its when you start tacking on the AA and AF is when FPS starts to to tank.

Man... He has a Dell IPS panel I think he knows a good monitor...:wtf:

Thank you, This panel IIRC is made by LG and they make some of the best panels out there.

Dell generally stocks very nice quality A+ panels but that's because Dell typically carry's good quality monitors. Not all monitors are created = just because they might have the same higher end specs such as 1080P, IPS, 5ms response etc.

You would never get 100fps let alone 1000fps in BF3 Ultra, Metro 2033 maxed, Crysis, The witcher 2, ETC.

So what? Stan Men says he's keeping the monitor. I guess you have no reason to post here then.

How does he expect to fix the issue if his monitor is the culprit? IF he is keeping the monitor, and the monitor is the issue, why post the thread anyways.

I think it is a problem with drivers or Windows OS to be honest as a monitor does not create tearing that is a hardware level issue as in an intrinsic nature of how the GPU renders frames.
