Yep, 120us sounds about right for used. Don't think you'll be disappointed with it!

I've had two GTX 480 for some time now; stock clocks and undervolted to 0.925v; can't barely hear them while gaming. On stock voltage (0.987v) they both do 830mhz. Check my scores on Vantage here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110050
And that was with Phenom II cpu's
Ask me if you have any problems. ;)

Hmm, I notice there is no clubhouse for 470/480 owners. Maybe we should start one?
Edit: okay, I started one. I think we should have a discussion area for these cards. A lot of new people will be running them in the next while.

I am more worried what it can do continuously on the stock cooler. I just don't letting the card get that hot, but after this thread I have been slowly jacking my 470's up again while I wait for waterblocks.

nearly 2 years and counting... your comment makes no sense. The 470 stock cooler isn't even in the league of the 480's, secondly the cards run naturally hot, but that doesn't seem to affect the longevity at all. Check my link in my previous post. That's from this year. The cards had been clocked nearly the entire time and show no degradation whatsoever. Whats more is that again they're in the worst config possible. So no there is nothing to worry about with the 480's stock cooler.

I don't like to see 80C at all it doesn't matter to me if the core can take it or not. I understand the 480 cooler is a bit heavier duty than the 470 cooler, but it has to be the heat produced by that monster is insane. I will continue to doubt the cooler on it, if you have to jack the fan up it is not good enough for me. I cannot game happily with the fans at 100%. That is exactly why I purchased a Zalaman VF3000F for my original 470 and am going to a set of DD-GTX470's now that I have two and possibly three shortly.

My fans aren't at 100% except at 880 core. at 850 they were actually on the stock ramp up.

There's no reason to worry about 80c on a modern day gpu. It takes well over 110 to harm these cards and mine have never been close, not even on suicide runs of over 900 core. ( always gets to the combined 3d 11 test and bsod's, so annoying)

In a single card config, 80c becomes rare.

Believe me when I say the stock cooler is fine. I've thrown water and phase change at the gpu and the max was the max no matter if on stock air, water (black ice xtreme 3 as the rad), or phase (vapochill). Longevity speaks for itself, cards right on top of each other, no issue. Save yourself 50-70$ it's not necessary.

I'm not in a single card config. 80C may not hurt it but even at 80-100% fan speed the 470 I have using the stock cooler is way hotter than I want to be at. I have plenty of radiator space to run 3 cards under water and not have to change anything with my loop. That being said I overbuilt my loop. With my plans to move to a caselabs case I also want the clean look of waterblocks along with running low speed quite fans will be nice.

470's a different beast as you don't know exactly why it was reduced to a 470 rather than a "full" blown 480 (quotes because we all know the 480 didn't utlize the full gpu either)

my EVGA 470 ran pretty nicely but did get hotter than my 480's do now. The cooler isn't as effective so that combines with the issue of why it ended up a 470 to give higher temps when overclocked. (should run cooler stock to stock though)

So I can see the 470 argument, but a 480 is fine so long as you're not going crazy on your 24/7 settings.
