GOTCHA! It's already a 64 bit os, so why is the system showing I have 6 but only letting me use 4?

One of my ram slots died in an x58 board I acquired recently. sh!t happens. Reseat and see if that fixes it.

this happened to a friend of mine.. he had 4GB RAM but only 1.99GB usable...
I opened his CPU found one of his RAM stick was loosely hanging from the socket...
Reseated it and it showed 4GB...

reseat the CPU as well (clean the pads/blow dust out of pins).

Didn't fix it. Took them all out and reseated them.

I'll try the other slots, it needs blown out anyway this case just isn't friendly to work in is the issue.
