so i've got a Q8300 at stock clock and i'm looking for a decent gpu to work with it

i've been looking at the msi 650ti power edition or a lower end 7850 (due to money restraints) which would probably be the msi twin frozr III

i highly doubt i will be upgrading my cpu anytime soon but i may purchase new mobo to oc it if that would make a diffrence

they seem to be fairly close in performance with only about 10 fps between them and i'm guessing the 650ti would be a better ocer but if i'm wrong please tell me

so the main questions would be would i be able to get the full performance out of the 7850 and if i could, would it (the twin frozr III) oc better?

Do those results include the 12.11 drivers? If not, then the 7850.

Short answer is the 7850 and people say it's a great OCer. You also get Far Cry 3 for free and 20% off MOH Warfighter. Please fill in your system specs, it makes it easier for us to recommend something.

The OC on the 7xxx series is crazy. My stock is 850, currently running at 1200 (7950). That is a 41% overclock.

Also what is the difference between a TI and non-TI. Back when they first started with that, I thought it was some physical revision that was better and made the previous obsolete.

There is really no doubt the 7850 is a far better card. I'd say it's worth the extra 30 pounds.

would my Q8300 be causing a bottleneck though? i know in thoery it's a better card but pairing it with my cpu it might not hold up against the cheaper one

I am very certain that the card doesn't weigh that much more than the 650.

You will have probably the same problems with both cards but it depends largely on the games. BF3 multiplayer likes fast CPU, fast memory which you lack at the moment. Metro depends more on the GPU but anyway a Q8300 stock with DDR2 is not cutting it anymore in some newer games. Since you linked Borderlands 2 there here's a CPU charts performance:
