Video Card(s) ASUS GTX 680 Direct CUII TOP

Software Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
1 US dollar = 41.2450 Philippine pesos

XFX HD 7970 Double Dissipation 3gb/256bit ddr5 = PHP 22730.00 = 551.097$

Power Color HD 7970 3gb/384bit ddr5 PCS+ (OC Ed) = PHP 17900.00 = 433.991$

Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II TOP 3gb/384bit (OC Ed) = PHP 18430.00 = 446.842$

Sapphire HD 7970 OC Ed 3gb/384bit ddr5 = PHP 19580.00 = 474.724$

EVGA GTX 680 2gb/256bit ddr5 FTW = PHP 27040.00 = 655.594$

MSI GTX 670 Power Edition 2gb/256bit ddr5 = PHP 20470.00 = 496.302$

so far these are the available cards in stock, and between the amd cards 7970 which one of them is a better performer then which one of them has better quality?

then on the nvidia side is the price for the 670 and 680 worth it?
well there are 680 lightning and dcuiitop 680 (but not in stock right now)

lightning 680 = PHP 27500 = 666.747$
dcuii top 680 = PHP 26500 = 642.502$

are they worth their price? or should i go with the cheaper 7970? (btw this is for a friend of mine, and i already have the dcuii top 680 but since my friend is asking for advice I might as well get more information here with the big guys:toast:)

between all these cards and their price which one is worth going for? my friend can afford any of those cards above but just asking if which of them is better performance/quality/price wise.

edit: lol i made a mistake on the title supposed to be which of these amd gpu is worth for the price vs nvidia 670/680.

I would stick with ATI until NV adjusts their price. Unless something changed, AMDs recent drivers and price cuts make their cards king right now. This might have changed though.

I vote 7950, but that is because I have one. I was able to achieve a 40% overclock, that is very relevant to performance.

I second this, The XFX Double D 7950 is an absolute beast right now. Well worth its weight in gold(pesos) for the overclock.

I looked into the 7950 and these are the prices,

HIS HD 7950 IceQ 3GB GDDR5 384bit = PHP 15500.00 = 375.803$

Sapphire HD 7950 3gb/384bit (OC Ed) = PHP 15370.00 = 372.651$

Power Color HD 7950 3gb/384bit ddr5 PCS+ (OC Ed) = PHP 13340.00 = 323.433$

these are the only available 7950 currently. how good are they from these brands? so far they look like from the affordable side, quality and performance wise? on these brands which are great value?

imo it's true that nvidia has high pricing lately, and the amd price drop was actually a benefit to most people.

personally I roll with sapphires, just had a good history with them, never had a power colour, and HIS aren't as well cooled as they make put, fairly average tbh. Sapphire is good price and quality

My vote is 7950 (I have a Gigabyte model and it is excellent). Sapphire is a good brand. Maybe someone on this forum has that model and can tell you about it?

for the sapphire 7970 oc ed (474.724$) and the 7950 oc ed (372.651$)

from these 2 how far can one oc these 2? well overclocking/temperature/fan noise/quality of these cards?

and how is the current driver for amd?

and how comparable is it compared to the gtx 670 msi/asus and the 680 evga, msi, asus???

side note: lol the random question asked me what is the color of snow, i answered black for the fun of it and now I know that this stuff knows the right answer or so I think

edit: although i'm in the nvidia section, well with the title being amd (wrote the title wrong) but if it needs to be moved to the amd section, it's ok
