still wondering

Gigabyte, loud but awesome cooling
XFX, awesome overclocks (7950 DD hits 1150 core i believe)
Asus, Super silent cooling, you pay for that handsomely however.

I never thought I would see the day someone had more post per day than MM! Damn it MM get on top of this!

As for cards I'd go with the ASUS card. If you have every thread that you have created for the day open.. you'll need that big ass cooler! j/k All jokes aside in the order I would pick 1st XFX, 2nd ASUS, 3rd Gigabyte, .. warranty wise, but Cooler wise it would be 1st ASUS, 2nd Gigabyte, 3rd XFX. :toast:

I like the idea of super-silent cooling; but wondering what you mean by "you will pay for that handsomely"?

Why....

23 topics in 3(?) days is pretty horrendous when one well constructed topic could of covered all of the things needing to be answered....OR, using the forum "Search" feature seeing as 87% of the questions have been repeatedly answered on this forum since the dawn of time.... :shadedshu

On topic.... Id pick the Gigabyte.

Moar noise = moar powah.... right?

It wont be so noisy either way and if you're gaming (the only time it will up the fan speed) you should be using an headset (or at least speakers of some merit!?) so who really minds if its a little more noisy than the rest... the stock clocks are what captured me AND the price is the lowest.... the noise is a "whatever" due to those things.

Almost all the topics were day one. Almost all the posts were day one. I needed to do a lot of research to find the right PC components and learn about them. Besides one or two irrelevant threads, the rest are completely relevant. None of it is spam. Spam is advertising or something worthless. My posts have a valid premise and logical reasoning without a hidden or ulterior agenda.

All those posts on day 1 helped me to be informed about almost $1000 I spent on parts. Would you write 15 posts about a $50 item you were thinking of purchasing? Would you write 30 posts about a $100 item you were thinking about purchasing? I think Yes. Well I bought almost 10 parts and only 150 posts, that's only total of 15 posts per item.

Perhaps you should not try to judge people based on mere perceptions and focus more on having fun rather than bashing people on a faulty premise. Thanks.

On topic... I'd pick the Gigabyte too coz it's the cheapest among the bunch... :)

EDIT: The Asus/XFX card goes down to 229.98 after rebate... I'd buy whichever is cheaper between the three... :)

Both the others are $130 + ship but they are 1000Mhz Core Clock.
The Gigabyte is $140 + ship but it has a 1200Mhz Core Clock, that's 20% faster core clock.

So Gigabyte hands down when you consider that; plus no dealing with MIR, unless one of the other brands is more reliable or quieter. Reliability wold be worth the lower clock speed, and also the quietness is worth it.

And the ASUS looks the coolest (aesthetically).

But the Gigabyte has the highest ratings on Newegg.

seriously though, it would be a good thing to have one thread asking questions related to a build, instead of multiple.

It might not fit the definition of spam, but its also wasting your time. You could be asking questions to the people already subscribed to your thread, instead of random people per thread. You're scattering the knowledge you wish to be accessing.

an average of 68 posts a day is waaaaay above normal, FYI. Hence the attention.

On topic: i dont like any of them, i always go reference design/cooling so i know i can replace it later. some non-reference cards arent compatible with third party coolers, and that tends to suck really, really hard if you have a problem down the track.

If you would mind your own business, it's not 68 posts a day. It was 150 posts on day 1.

:slap:

I'm a moderator here. This is my business.

It clearly shows your average next to your post count, which is slowly dropping to less insane levels.

they are coming out for the Holiday Season

I think it's coming out soon. Look here.

Hmm, I think I'm gong to wait on the graphics card anyways; I'm not going to be playing games again for awhile, just doing work. I think I'll wait until the sales. After googling for deals, I discovered that just two weeks ago, the 7870 was $185. Then they added the games bundle and increased the price.

Thanks, this is helpful.

Well whenever the prices are best. I could afford to spend full price, but I don't see why I should if I can wait and save $100?

If the deals on Black Friday go back to $190 or less I will buy it instantly. Black Friday is only next week, after all.
