a) it's illegal
b) MS already knows about this flaw and they're gonna release a patch blocking/blacklisting those keys.

They may not care that much. The more people move to windows 8, the more people will access the app market.

Remember this thread to see if the key works in the future.

Win8 is rubbish. Its inerface design is idiotic, moronic and clumsy. I really wonder who was the idiot behind the design. I'd only use it if one gifted it to me. Maybe i'll care when Win9 arrives and if they'll get rid of the dumb Metro or at least do it properly...

I don't use it and it was gifted to me (MSDNAA/Dreamspark), I don't see a reason to.

On-topic: I'm really curious how will Microsoft react to this, can the problem really be solved by just blocking the keys?

Of course they do.

Microsoft even ditched the volume licensing for Windows 8. Here's a snippet:

People can no longer install multiple versions of Windows using the same install code. Instead, Windows 8 requires a different code for each Windows 8 install, much to the chagrin of pirates.

So VLK is no more.

I forget his name but he was fired.

Steven Sinofsky. He wasn't fired. Apparently he had a "misunderstanding" with Ballmer and left because of "a personal and private choice".

He was the guy in charge of W7 too so even if W8 launch was a flop he'd still have some leeway. Besides it's too early to label W8 as a failure. Heck, I've bought 3 of them already. :D
