Frag said he just got a 7970 for that price and that is the better option still. Plus amd gives you those 3 games.

Yeah even if you're used to paying only half price for your games, that's still like getting a top end GPU for about $250. Those are good games too, couldn't pass it up. I went for the deal mostly for the card itself though.

Strange, the Gigabyte 7950 windforce idle is 31 to 33 at 900 clock and 1250 RAM.
Look at the great load temps. The idle temps are probably more because sapphire decided to go for quietness at idle with the fan curve.

I would take out the windforce because it is locked... I do assume you want to overclock as much as you can.

So you got a 7970?

If both cards are locked, I'd choose the vapor-x even though it's a little more pricey. At least it runs cooler and it is probably more quiet as well. I think the worst feeling is getting the inferior card and then regretting the purchase and thinking about "what could have been".

But as someone else said, the vapor-x is probably locked, so if the other sapphire card is not locked, I would choose that card. As a bonus it is also cheaper and looks like it comes out of the box slightly overclocked :)

So you got a 7970?

Yep, this one when it was briefly available for $330 before being sold out.

It still shows the same price, but since the rebate only goes through Nov and they seem to be getting limited quantities, I'm doubtful it will be available at that price, at least not soon anyway. Maybe when the 8000s or 700s come out.

(EDITED)
Just got another Black Friday ad emailed from Newegg showing this card in it, even though it's sold out, so maybe they will get some more in at that price.

I also just ordered this audio enabling DVI to HDMI adapter from eBay, in case there's any problems with the HDMI audio. It's the same thing as this and is originally made by ATI, not HIS.
