Hello, just tonight, my PC has been locking up while playing WoW and watching movies on VLC media player on my other screen. No warning, screen locks up and sound starts repeating.

Also when booting up my PC, my screens will not display anything until the operating system boots up. (Win7), no post or motherboard screen shows up or anything.

Is my PC not getting enough power or something. I did do a recent update, I might have to sys restore.

This didn't fix my issue, it still occurs and is very frustrating. Apparently it's happening to a lot of people who play WoW

That thread of mine linked to only shows one possible solution, and not all have had success with it. It could be driver related.

Are all your drivers, video, sound, MB chipset, DirectX, etc, updated? It's also best to install the video and sound drivers by completely removing the old ones first, like with a app made for it, such as Driver Sweeper.

Also, have you installed anything recently like codec packs or such that might be causing conflicts? You might also want to disable one startup program at a time if any are running while gaming, to see if one is causing the problem. For instance AV and/or Firewall programs have been known to at times cause such problems with certain games with one of their updates.

Lastly, are any of your components, namely (CPU and GPU) overclocked? Some games are less tolerable to overclocked hardware than others.

There are too many things I'd have to go through Frag Maniac. Also no logs are being created either.

I think it may be Flash Player causing though because it always seems to happen when Im watching Youtube or playing a flash game.

First things that pop into my head are the PSU failing... I am doubtful its driver or software related as you mention that you have symptoms before and during the windows bootup.

The no picture on boot was actually me plugging the screens in the wrong card.

This coupled with what you said about YouTube makes me wonder if it could be a malware attack. What security software are you running and have you done any scans since this has been happening?

What is with all of these weird recommendations? Let's start with the basics. :)

I think it may be Flash Player causing though because it always seems to happen when Im watching Youtube or playing a flash game.

I know that AMD accelerates flash video using the GPU, so maybe disabling that might help with stability? I know I've had issues in the past with this on my 6870s.

My 6870s are VERY picky about what kind of video I can play while I'm using my GPUs in Crossfire (actively, as in I'm playing a game on one display and playing a video on another). Maybe you're experiencing the same thing?
