What I mean is a little more specifically, as in my answer to Buck, below.

All I mean is something along the lines of the following standard generic error message:

"Picture file could not be uploaded for one of the following reasons: wrong format (jpg, png, tiff only) exceeds 2MB limit, dimensions too large. Please fix and try again."

Anything along these lines would be great and very helpful, as people would learn what the limits are. EDIT: as I write this, I checked and see that "File extensions allowed: gif, jpg, png, maximum size: 2 MB" is already there, which is very helpful, so the error message could perhaps just repeat this info for those that didn't notice that text at the bottom and are left scratching their heads.
