Helloo,

I would like to upgrade my current 4GB (2x2GB 1067 MHz DDR3) memory to 8GB or even 16GB when possible.

The question that raised was wether my MBP can handle 1600 MHz DDR3 and/or 16GB (2x8GB).

My processor is as follows:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40GHz

Am I going to be constrained to 8GB memory (2x4GB 1067 MHz DDR3)?

Please share your thoughts :)

PS: Any other upgrades for my mid-2010 MBP that are worthwhile? (SSD?)

Looks swell. I bought my MBP in october 2010, does that make my MBP a late-2010 with i5 processor? It says i3/i5/i7 nowhere.

I hope my MBP will at least support 1333MHz like your's ;)

Go check the MBP box and look at the specs.

The box only says:

MBP 13.3/2.4/2x2GB/250/SD/GLSY

It says nothing about the capacities of the MBP taking on 1600MHz or 1333MHz of memory...

Please help?

Okay thanks bro..

I wonder why I couldn't find that on the Apple site...

So does this mean that my MBP is 1,5 times as slow (1600/1066) as the 1600MHz 8GB variant would be?

Loving this forum

I'm the system admin for many Mac laptops where I work. I found that our MBPs with C2Ds in them didn't exactly like running DDR3-1333 and ran best with 1066. Most of the machines kernel panicked on boot using the faster memory.

They don't say anything like that on there site is cuz apple dosen't want you to touch the innards of there stuff and they always want you to send there stuff in for any work to be done.
