did amd made oficial announcment about this or just one more rumor??
its actualiy rely wierd, they claim'd that they alredy have that gpu rdy in november,it should be out in next few days...what the hell hapend?i hate comercialist!! soo many lies told by them.. freaks!!
well thiese cards now are good enough for games released by now..let just hope games developers will made beter game coding(optimizing) for beter use of hardware...

I think its just Web-Masters dying for attention and traffic.

Hardware Rep for AMD over at Overclock.net explained the attention whoring from the websites with the miss-information.

Guys, AMD never confirmed anything. I wrote the tweet, we never spoke to WCCFTech, and we've never so much as hinted that a next-gen product would be coming this year. That part where WCCFTech claimed we've released reports on a next-gen was completely fabricated (¶2, first sentence).

We even announced at CES that "Sea Islands" was our mobile products, and reinforced that today's assortment of HD 7000 products at your local etailers are the products you can expect for months to come.

When I said that the HD 7000 Series is our focus for the foreseeable future, I meant it.

You can't delay a product that hasn't been scheduled, planned or announced. This "article" is rubbish.

they never really specified that it was Sea Islands that was shipping.

They were referring to the 8000 OEM series southern islands refresh.

I hope this is not another HD 6970 replacement for the HD 5870 based on the same process. This better be more like a HD 4870 to a HD 6970 performance improvement senario.

Honestly, I see AMD winning this year, regardless of when cards come out.

They are literally making the chips that everyone in the industry will be using for the next few years in consoles, thus everything will be optimized for AMD chips from the get go.

There are a number of places that said last year that Sony's "Obris" is claimed to have an AMD APU-like chip in it as well.

That's what I read, 8970 is 7970 Boost, 8950 is 7950 boost. And this is on AMD's own website, not some other random site.

WAAAA...DA....:shadedshu

:banghead:

HUGH mistake on AMD's part, especailly with GK110 about to be released by Nvidia.

With all their latest financial issues AMD has to be very careful about picking fights they can win. A head-to-head with Titan isn't one of those. Not enough market to make it worthwhile. At best you can expect an official 7990 launch to go against Titan (current 7990s are AIB's).

The brunt of GPU sales is at the 200-300 price range and AMD is well covered there.

EVERY GAME WILL BE MADE to use amd gpu primarily. I cant see it hurting and it should make porting easier for devs and bare metal gpu codeing might return
Oh and its clear to anyone keeping up with things that any 8xxx series xard comeing out now is purely an oem rebadge not nx gen and this rebadge debacle happens often in both camps

True that, but you don't think Nvidia can't produce some "cut-down" $300-350 GK110 cards that should absolutely crush Tahiti(provided GK110 is as strong as early reports are saying)?
