I was just thinking about my H100, wishing I had a Corsair Link kit, but not enough to pay $60 for it. Then I wondered if it's possible to use an H100i Link cable on an original H100? Then if you could buy just the cable, you could download the software and control your H100 pump and fans. Or maybe it's possible to make your own cable, using a USB 2.0 header cable and a mini USB plug. Has anyone tried this yet? It would be great to have these features without paying for more hardware. All you'd need is the pinout for the pump port to USB.

Corsair Link for H100 is an external box, unlike the H100i.

Thanks for the reply, cadaveca. What I was wondering is if anyone who has both the H100 and the H100i has tried hooking the cable from the H100i to the H100/USB header, without using the module, because if it works, anyone with the H100 could make or buy a cable and avoid buying the cooling module (which has a 10 watt limit per channel and isn't worth the money). Possibly the module is necessary on the older cooler to link with the H100; I wanted to know one way or the other before I waste my time building a cable.
