its ok.... but creative x-fi's aren't that great. run a search for sound cards, theres a ton of stuff about them. mostly bad caps, blowing caps, crap sound quality.

for a good card, look at the azuntech x-mystique or x-plosion. cheaper too.

for 10 bucks more you can get the entire front panel and control.

according to the latest maximum pc, the azuntech are so-so, but horrible for gaming...the reviewers were surprise that the razer with the same chip outperformed the azuntech by a long shot...but for gaming, x-fi was the best, but that is due to creative trys to get a higher software support for it from games.

np.... i see what you mean if you are a perf junkie.
personally, i like quality over performance, i can live with a 5fps loss in framerate.....

btw, i'd really like to hear more about this 9.1 system.......

Wow... i'm impressed. and jealous as hell...
Thats a pretty nice receiver unit as well.

I'm currently using a Logitech Z-5500 set, stock, with integrated soundcard. Its decent, the sub is a real kicker, but the set is lacking in the midrange. which is a shame. its more geared towards gaming than music, i guess. And i simply don't have money for a soundcard....oh well.

But i'm not complaining, i got the thing for free. theres NO WAY i could afford it on my own.

sold indeed!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102189

cost 182 on the egg...

also the one you initially posted, i believe frys is selling that for 80 after MIR, but i dont see them selling it online, only in store.

KTR,... just wanted to say thanks again for the heads up on that $;) 109.00 Deal from Fry's.:rockout:
I just installed it yesterday and so far so good,I really like it.I sent the rebate in the same day so I see how long this will take.I wish they had a smaller or round cable that connects the drive-bay unit to the card.Time for some creative {no pun intended} cable management!
