Hi guys,
I've got a handful of XFX HD-695X-ZNFC cards that I've successfully modded. These particular cards don't have a backup BIOS switch and require a hardware mod to write the flash (write pin mod).
Over the course of playing with various RBE settings, I've flashed "bad" BIOSes, but I've always been able to recover by using another video card. This time, however, I'm stumped.
I used RBE to flash a Gigabyte signed BIOS, since my software didn't like my previous RBE-modded stock firmware. The firmware flashed fine, but after a reboot, the fan kicked into high gear and the screen went blank.
I booted off the internal Intel video card and uninstalled all the AMD drivers. After doing so, the fan doesn't speed up on boot and the card shows up in the Device Mangler (albeit with a warning icon since the drivers are no longer there). ATIWinFlash does see it but when I try to flash the stock ROM, it pops up with the "Please wait" dialog, but only 3 of the progress bars show up before it stops responding.
Oddly, RBE can't see the card with "Analyze" function.
I've tried atiflash -unlockrom 0 and then atiflash -f -p 0 stock.rom, but nothing seems to take. GPU-Z still reports the Gigabyte ROM. Sometimes I'll get a "NTVDM has stopped working" dialog when running atiflash from an elevated cmd prompt.
Oh, and atiflash can't find the card when I run DOS off a flash drive.
Any suggestions? The fact that ATIWinFlash can see the card leads me to believe that I haven't completely bricked the card, but I'm stuck.
TIA.
