Question about fans and powering off system (electronics question)

Ok, first, the system I'll be talking about is my own (look at my system specifications).
What I was wondering, is there any way to "add" something between the cpu fan, or in this case my AIO watercooling system, so that after the computer is powered down the one fan and the cooling system itself stays on for about 30 seconds to 1 minute extra?

I had read somewhere, a long time ago, that for watercooling systems (not All In One), that there was some sort of thing to be connected between the water pump and the power, so that after the system was shut down - it would run an extra minute or so for extra cooling.

Is it possible to get something (buy that is) for my AIO watercooling, or construct such a device??

From what I know, there is nothing on the market that can do what you mean.

You have to build it yourself if you're an electronic engineer.

I know however that some power supplies ( Enermax Revolution now they are discountinued ) had that feature, but only serves to prolong the life of the components in the power supply.

On cooling system I do not think you would have any advantage.

When the main PC shuts down, you are left with only the standby voltage, which as far as I know is only 5V. That in itself will cause issues with fans as it isn't enough to even spin most fans on the market.

Only thing I can think of like this was for TEC cooling where even after the TEC was powered down, the loop would run to continue to cool that plate. In those instances you need a secondary power supply and a relay.

I do not know of a plug and play idea, but who knows, I have been wrong before.

You could go to Enermax or Thermaltake and grab a USB powered fan that you could plug in, but that just adds a step to the power down, and I think you are looking for a more automatic solution.

Ok, I see know that there is more things that needs to be in a device that can hold/store 12 volt and release it on "command". I think I'll have to forget about it.

There used to be a device called the Power Down Protector that did exactly that. 5v generally isn't enough to start a fan, but once started most fans will continue to spin at 5v. Since the fans are already spinning, the 5v is enough to keep them spinning for a minute or two, obviously at a slower speed than running them at 12v.

I, believe, the psu plugs into the control module. The extension 20+4 pin cable is then plugged into the MB.
It fools the power supply into staying powered until the time limit you set by dip switches, for 5 to 60 seconds, then it drops the signal voltage so the psu shuts off.

Yes! That's the one, the layout has changed however, and seems to be a better one than the last one I saw. But that's the one! Thanks a lot!!!!
