Thanks i forgot about this, then again it has been a long time and i did enjoy the others too and imo it's one game that stayed with it roots i just hope they do with this one too.

I don't have the nerve to be excited. I was dissapointed in Thief 3, but the first games were more than excellent. Thief 2 is probably in my top 5 games ever made list. Some wishes:

HUGE MAPS. Without transitions, like God intended.

No zombies, because I hate zombies and they are no fun playing against.

No third person, as God intended.

Could happen. Trailer says PC, PS4, and "other next generation consoles." All have more than 4 GiB of RAM so they could theoretically load the whole map into memory...assuming they don't go overboard with the textures.

In theory consoles can do many many things but in reality they are always limited boxes.

The previous generations only had about 512 MiB of total system memory. The new ones have around 8 GiB. Environments got small on PC because the consoles simply didn't have the memory to support larger environments. Now that consoles have a respectable amount of RAM, the incentive to have tiny environments with frequent loading screens is gone.

It's being made by the same people that made Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Eidos Montreal). It'll also be targeted at next-gen hardware (PS4, PC, and next Xbox). I think it will be done very well.

On the hardest difficulty, it probably will be. In DXHR, I beat the entire game without entering into combat. I suspect Thief 4 will be the same.

I actually have not, but I have played (although not finished) Thief 2X: Shadows of the Metal Age, an unofficial expansion that is actually quite something. Check it out.

When it comes to combat, there's a fundamental difference between Thief and Dues Ex. In Dues Ex you're a cybernetic action hero, in Thief you're a thief. However, it'll probably turn out like you said because consoles.

I've been waiting for this game for waaaay too long. Happy to see it hasn't been put in the scrap bin. Since I literally "thieved" my copy of the first Thief when I was a little kid, I fell in love with the series. Definitely supported them through Thief Gold, Thief 2 and Deadly shadows though :laugh:

Any true fan of the game should not pass up the opportunity to play this game. I highly recommend it as it stays true to it's roots.

I hope the game does stay true to its roots as well but Its hard to see that happening, square is in a very low place right now and are blaming western markets for they're troubles which is bs.

I do not want to see this game end up being a rushed mess.
