I got two 120Gb SSDs for RAID-0 and I find that 240Gb is barely enough to give myself enough overhead for wear leveling after installing everything I use and such. I strongly recommend at least a 240Gb SSD and in most cases RAID-0 is unnecessary as well so unless you need it or want to splurge, I don't recommend it (although copying a VM image at 500MB/s to the same drive (RAID) is pretty awesome.)

Other than that it looks like a nice rig.

Hey Aquinus, I want to keep the 840 series just to put windows and a few important programs and games on would you recommend like a 500gb hardrive for just recreational use like music and such? Also need a case !!

The size of the hard drive you want to use for storage is completely up to you. I would get what ever fits the data you have. If all of your music and stuff that won't be on the SSD will fit on 500GB and leaves you with plenty to spare, then you're golden. I'm just saying that Windows alone with a couple applications will almost fill 120Gb, it's a worth while investment imho. As for the case, I don't have a whole lot of experience with different vendors, Antec has always done fairly good for me but there are a lot of other good options, I just can't vouch for them.

If you really want two standard memory 680s then why not get a 690 and slap this on it http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/598/accelero-twin-turbo-690.html?c=2182

Your ears will thank you. One of the worst things for me and SLI has been the heat on the top card. I had it tamed when I put a Twin Turbo on it, then I unlocked the volts and had to put a ACX3 on it. Everything is silent now but having all this power in one package with one cooler would be nice. If you do that though don't use their cement paste, use some nice thermal tape.

I still have one Titan on air, I can barely hear it even on 70% fan.

I believe that GTX 690 cooler is as good as Titans and the only reason to replace it would be water.

My honest opinion tho...

I guess it depends on distance/angle/in a desk and what not, but I don't find those coolers even close to silent. An arctic cooler will blow your mind with it's silence, and you get good cooling to boot. Really I'd recommend these to everybody comfortable with swapping coolers. The 690 version seems to be based on two mono's slapped together, and having heard the 2 monos on my friend's SLI setup it's hard to even tell the difference between idle and load. Oh and forget what I said about tape I just noticed the 690 cooler comes with a whole plate attached to it. Excellent.

Rig looks good, the only thing I would change is getting 8gb sticks of ram over 4gb sticks. :toast:

There's 2x so I have 16gb

The price should be close to the same, and with 2x 8gb sticks you can always upgrade with more ram later.
