That's money.

I'm taking a small break from gaming. Though I might actually reinstall BF3 after I reformat my PC this weekend just so I can get my game fix once in a while. But BF4 will be a nice saving period for me until I upgrade my video card during the same time it comes out. Can't wait :toast:

Rumor Mongering

NeoGaf - Rumor: Battlefield 4 survey hints at DLC packs including naval, BF3 maps, & DINOSAURS

Not sure its worth a new thread, but a couple days ago I took an online survey regarding Battlefield 4. It was mostly just highlighting what you liked or disliked regarding certain paragraphs laden with marketing speak ("visceral combat") and so forth. Nothing really new from that part of it- mentioned Battlelog 2.0 and being able to schedule matches with friends, mentioned increased dynamic environments (one example being blowing out the foundations of a dam to flood the battlefield), naval combat (mentioned jet skis and gun boats), asked me how unique a possible boxart was (it was the guy in the rain with the BF4 logo dead center across the box) and how interested I'd be in purchasing BF4 if I could transfer over my unlocks and rank from BF3.

What I found most interesting were the 3 DLC package descriptions:

The first one was described as taking Operation Metro and Caspian Border and remaking them in Frostbite 3, with new weapons and classes. Then they had you rank possible names for the DLC pack. I don't recall all of them but some were: Battlefield 4 Recommisioned, BF4 Reenlisted, BF4 War Torn, and BF4 Reconstructed.

Second one was a DLC that would focus on naval combat with more naval vehicles and coastal batteries. It wasn't super specific, just that it would focus on naval combat. Possible names (that I remember now) were: BF4 Naval Warfare (or maybe it was Naval combat?), BF4 Steel Titans and some other ones that I'm forgetting.

The third DLC description was the most interesting: DINOSAURS! From what I recall, it was described as a coop mode where you and other players would fight against dinosaurs with primitive weapons, specifically mentioning a bow and arrow. Possible names were: BF4: BC, BF4: Primal Combat (or maybe it was Primal Warfare?), BF4: 21942 BC and some other one that was something like BF4: Dino... something. Can't recall.

Take that for what its worth since I don't have any screens or anything, but FWIW, it was almost exactly like other EA surveys I've seen in the past in terms of format, like that Dragon Age 3 one from last year.

CptSizzlePants, I knew I seen that name before, don't worry, he was the one guy on your team that me and Ufgy had to really keep and eye out for. We probably should have left the server long before, it kept balancing really lop sided so I got bored and started sniping. And I'm not sure if he did, I was recording trying to get some footage for another vid.

Not very often, only if I notice a name, like if someone said something. I too busy being a try hard to notice chat most often, best way is usually if I die to someone, then I pay a bit more attention if I know them.

Hoo boy 1440P is nice as is the 4 additional inches of real estate. Even little things like sharper text in-game on Enemy Killed etc are standing out. So far at 96Hz too.

Following Reayth around will get you killed, although there are several unique opportunities to pick off some enemies that flee in terror when he runs into a building.

BF4Central - Battlefield 4 multiplayer trailer coming before E3?

The very first BF4 trailer showcasing the multiplayer will be released before E3 2013.

MAY 2ND, 2013 IN NEWS

According to our source, EA will release a Battlefield 4 multiplayer trailer shortly before E3. This comes from the same source who accurately tipped us off about the first series of Battlefield 4 trailers released last month.
No word on what the Battlefield 4 multiplayer trailer will include, whether we’ll see gameplay, whether it’s a teaser, etc. The first BF3 multiplayer trailer was released a couple of days before E3 2011 kicked off.
It’s already been confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be at E3 this year. Hopefully DICE will have playable version of the game on the show floor. Back at E3 2011, BF3 multiplayer was unveiled and playable at the show.
E3 2013 takes place on June 11-13 in Los Angeles. According to the latest rumors, the game will include a Commander feature, Battlelog 2.0, and will launch on October 31.

The QNIX PLS (though you may have figured that out by now).

I've had a blast playing with that guy. He's one of the few on my list who actually joins my games too (though the two of us also seem to be on weekend mornings when no one else generally is).

examiner.com - 'Battlefield 3' down as servers under DDOS attack

VIDEO GAME NEWS - MAY 8, 2013 - BY: SCOTT GRILL

Battlefield 3 currently under a DDOS attack.
Credits: DICE, Electronic Arts

The Battlefield 3 servers for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC went down Wednesday as the result of a DDOS attack.

DICE confirmed the attack on Battlelog with a note saying, "The current [Battlefield 3] and Battelog outages are a result of activity that appears to be aimed at overwhelming our game servers."

These kind of Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks are nothing new for the game unfortunately as a Battlelog developer revealed in a forum post at the MyrCon development community.

To those of you who feel that we're not doing enough, we've been handling these DDoS (and RDDoS) attacks for longer than you guys have been seeing the issues, unfortunately as with all of these sort of attacks, it's a constant cat and mouse game, and it's extremely expensive and time consuming on our side to mitigate. We (and our hosts) are in constant 24/7 Red Alert mode trying to handle the problem and find who is responsible. It's not easy, it takes a LOT of manpower, and it is unbelievably expensive with all the hardware we have to run to attempt to keep services working as best as they can when being utterly flooded by the attacker(s).
The outage as the result of the attacks began at approximately 3 a.m. EST Wednesday morning. Battlefield 3 is still down as of 9:54 a.m. EST. The last update from the official Battlefield twitter account at that time said, "We are aware of this and are working on the servers currently. Stay tuned for updates regarding a solution."
