I talked to MSI today and they told me their new 700 series cards will be approx. 20% faster than the comparable 600 series.

The guy said he saw some in action and they are gearing them towards newer games.

Take it for what it's worth lol

I guess we will see when they actually hit the market and get in to customers hands to get the real world experience.

If you havn't learned by now, buying in as an early adopter isn't budget friendly.

BUT, with all the releases and re-releases it does help drive down the costs of previous generations. So when the GTX780 comes out, the 680 will be discounted. :) Everybody wins!

Taking into consideration everything that's been leaked lately there really is no surprise here.
The only thing missing is the price. In fact, regarding performance, it's like the second generation Fermi cards where the 580 had something like 15-20% over the 480 and the 570 was a tad faster than the 480.

From the looks of those benchmarks...the 780 is pretty close to the Titan.

SO if they price the 780 well below the Titan? you know the rest :)

Weird more high priced video cards. Next generation on both sides isn't looking good price wise.

Can I point at people expecting more than 20% performance increase without a lithography shrink ?

Nothing different from what 5870->6970 and 480->580 was.

The only difference in here is that they have an high end chip that trumped their midrange by a ton and they milked on it, nothing more than a business move.

I just noticed something. That supposed GTX780 is shown as having 320bit/5GB with 40ROP while we've been hearing about 384bit/3GB and 48ROP. What gives?

wccftech - renowned for being off the mark.

Also, never trust benchies with vague charts, i.e. the 780 memory is listed at 3-6GB in the chart. 'Nuff said.

I'll wait for the real world revelations.

Exactly this. With AMD pricing the 7990 at (UK)£800 they are definitely pricing up. I can see them adopting the business and marketing position (as the are allowed to do) that if they release a highly competitive card in the next gen (almost definite to happen) then it will be priced as such.
They have watched Nvidia sell truckloads of cards (680's) that perform slower then the GHZ speed 7970's at higher price points. AMD must be thinking it's their turn to make the profits now. If my card is better than the competitors, I can sell it at a higher price point.

I expect the 8xxx series to come in real fast (in performance terms) and I think Nvidia are releasing the 7xx series in a knee jerk reaction in advance to blunt sales.

Just my two pennies mind.

So, the 6950 from AMD cam in at about the same level as a 570 (rounding down, but whatever). The 570->670->770 would be a 44% increase. For that 44% increase in performance I'd be looking at a price increase of about 100% (late adoption of the 6950, coupled with an assumed tag at $400 for the 770).

Anyone else staving off the urge to buy another round of graphics cards? A 72.8% performance increase might only cost 120% more.

Let's look at this realistically, AMD and Nvidea are treading water. Giving these cards the BS factor that these "benchmarks" need, you're still not looking at a good reason to buy them unless you've got either a 4xx or 5xxx series card still inside your rig.

It hurts me to say this, but AMD and Nvidea please slow the releases down. Get us better price points, with substantial performance gains. I'd love to have the highest end graphics to play with, but unless I discover oil in the back yard I can't afford anything but an investment in every third generation of cards if you keep up with this. Heck, a pair of previous generation cards in either crossfire of SLI costs less and delivers better performance than what you are offering as your high end cards.

One, how crowded will the nVidia lineup be after this? Two, do they think that just because AMD isn't releasing anything new, that their cards won't be competitive? Even with semi-sketchy synthetic benchmarks and speculation, it doesn't sound like they're trying to be price competitive with AMD.

The longer AMD produces the same card, the cheaper it becomes to manufacture it. I foresee a casual, nonchalant price drop by AMD in the future that will have a lot of people seeing red.

Only thing that i care is the price. If they'll continue their idiotic overpriced madness, they can have all the GeForce cards they want. For the last few years every single GeForce card was quite more expensive than any Radeon while not really offering anything better. The same reason why i'm still on Radeon cards.

well price is idiotic more or less, but the more of my friends even with gaming laptops that has AMD cards when they run into trouble, u don't or i mostly don't do that with Nvidia cards maybe that's why i am staying Green instead of going Red

one of my friends got a AMD Radeon 7970M 3gb in his gaming laptop on there was only outdated drivers out until i used sometime and tried linking him a beta driver i think it was 13.2 Beta or something that works everything else he tried didn't, that's not so good...
