New Router

Hi all,

So I have been using my trusty netgear DGN1000 for AGES now..and I think it is starting to fail as a router..the actual web interface is running pretty slow, cant seem to find any more firmware updates for it. I think its time I updated..

My price range is up to $150AUD. What are your thoughts/suggestions..?

best bet is to figure out your requirements: speed, range, extra capabilities. Lots of wireless N routers out there, but some support better speed/range than others. Find a few you like, if you're not sure, post those to see if anyone can sport an opinion.

If you want lots of software features, look for one supported by dd-wrt.

Netgear WNDR3700. Its dated but one of the most reliable routers out. I have the Netgear WNDR4300 its just a little faster.

I have used the TP Link in your post. Its a good router. The only thing I didn't like about it was all the blinking lights.

For sure not the second one. Its a modem with routing. Only mbit ports not gbit. I have an asus rt-n16. I've been quite happy with it. Maybe look at reviews of that asus and the to link; if possible a comparison. See which is more reliable and which has better bang for buck.

The WNDR4000 is $16 more expensive than the WNDR3700, do you think it is worth an extra $16? the 4000 comes with a lifetime warranty whereas the 3700 only comes with 1yr.
Or would you still say to stick with the 3700?
