I haven't tried the latest drivers. from what ive seen they add a few more points. ill try hit 12k graphics if so.

Looks like typically a 9.5 to 11k score with a nonbottlenecking processor.

Why disable tessellation?

Because 3DMark is a drag race, not a beauty contest. The goal in that (all?) benchmarks is to achieve the highest score, not who gets it to look best. Disabling tessellation improves scores dramatically.

I deleted my screen shots by mistake, but my names on these. Not my best scores but recorded nonetheless.

in the heaven thread I should be there, ill go look. and that had tess enabled - I thought my clocks were higher. I have ran my memory up to 1800

these are valley, I cant find the heaven ones!

oh the tess thing isn't compulsory for hwbot, I was testing for some hwbot entries hence no tess

3dMark 11 = a very interesting (not terribly valuable) method in choosing a GPU. IMO, its best to look at the results here/other sites reviews. It has stock and o/c versions. Not to mention, there is a 3dMark 11 thread with a ton of highly overclocked results already as a source.

on forums I always have it enabled as people moan about non-valid results, especially when they get owned!

im collecting a bunch of benches for hwbot as im in top spots or possibly able to compete at the top spots with no tess! and no tess = higher clocks!

im looking on my imageshack as theres a few screenies of uberclocks there!



oh and that firestrike shall be 8k total soon. and im hunting down 11k total 3d11, as the new drivers give more points.

Kay? I suppose I benching just isn't my thing... I mean, it used to be for years but I got to the point where it just seemed pointless. I see no point in it unless I'm doing it for a reason. I suppose one would call me a PC gamer first, so I use these benchmarks as a baseline (Valley is awesome for this) for playing games. It's an easy thing to run to find stability.

Agree with the last part. And for that, its logical to leave everything on for quick and dirty stability testing . But, when I go the drag strip(run benchmarks), the seats came out, and so did the spare tire among other things(tessellation off, etc). Every tenth (point) helps. I don't go down the strip with the wife and kids in the car (AA forced on, yada).

As you mentioned before, to each his own.

overclock that cpu, its hasn't got to be stable, but bootable and benchable. 3d11 with good tight timings and a high cpunb works best. 5ghz on the cpu should net around 9k physics.

im not sure the limits of that gfx card, but running chilled water for a bench would help 1300/1700

Idk never checked. CPU/NB is at 2400MHz. The water is very very chill

You have some impressive luck with golden silicon. Wish my stuff overclocked like that. Best I got is a cherrypicked 2550k @ 5.0 and an opty CABGE 144 @ 2.7 (maxed the FSB in bios, could hit 3.00 on other mobo), never had a golden gpu though. 7850 does 1100 with undervolt but I don't consider that golden, maybe more bronze LOL.

ive just been pushing 3d11 - physics around 9400 is the best I can do without errors.

I haven't even got around to the gpu with these new drivers yet. but im hoping for a 200 point increase with them!

my card isn't golden, id consider golden -1300/1900
