I believe Gen 3 has Pci-express 3.0.

Sort of. The Gen3 has a PLX PEX 8747 bridge chip which approximates* PCI-E 3.0's bandwidth by extending the available lanes ( brief overview/explanation of the PLX chip >>here<<). What you end up with is of dubious value - probable addition of latency, and close to zero benefit over PCI-E 2.0 since the x16 slot isn't anywhere close to being saturated to warrant 3.0.

* I'll assume that the Gen3 board still uses PCI-E 2.0's (8b/10b) encode rather than the 3.0 spec of 128b/130b, so you wouldn't have access to the reduced encode overhead.

Any information on AMD will change their AM3+ socket next year or they will stick to AM3+ socket for their next CPU?
