MSI Z87-G45 compatibility.

I'm building a PC and I'm deciding on a motherboard. I want to go with the MSI Z87-G45 Gaming but on the website I'm ordering from (www.landmarkpc.co.za) it says that the motherboard is compatible with DDR3 3000 RAM (OC) but I already have a 1333 RAM chip. Can someone help me with this?

What about 3000 ram?

You will hardly see much performance increase after 1866, let alone anywhere close to 3000Mhz.

You can use pretty much any RAM there as long as they are not registered and/or ECC sticks. If you have 1333Mhz memory I personally wouldn't bother upgrading.

Not in the slightest. 2133 user here, I didnt notice a single shred of difference compared to the 1333's on my server.
