Editing BIOS of a ASUS Radeon HD 7990 to under-volt

Hi,

I've successfully edited BIOS for my Club3D Radeon HD 7950 and under-volt the cards to 1.100 V to make them cooler.

I would like to do the same with my ASUS Radeon HD 7990, but before I'm going to do it I would like to ask you if anyone of you has some experiences with editing BIOS for 7990? The reason I'm asking is because 7990 has got dual graphics processor on board and therefore I would like to know weather there are any specialities with editing 7990 BIOS or is just the same procedure as other 7xxx series cards?

Thanks!

Hi

Just make sure there is a Backup of the Master and Slave vbios before editing and keep voltage the same for M & S vbios

Use latest version of GPU-Z here and extract the Master vbios image and save to file call it MaltaM.rom
then use the pull down tab to select the Slave vbios image and save to filecall it MaltaS.rom
[Note: do not mix these up; keep a copy in a safe place]
Example:
Master and Slave Example.jpg
This example is from a HD 5970 but is the same principle.

nb: press the thanks button if you find information helpful, :toast:

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Law has you covered! But why not have zero risk and have software do it on boot like afterburner?

Law, does your signature actually request thanks?!!

@EarthDog: I'm using Linux, therefore I can't use afterburner ... moreover, it seams that voltage is locked (can't be softvare changed) and thats why I have to edit BIOS ... will do it like Law-II advised and I'll report back later.

FYI: I've successfully edited vbios and undevolted my ASUS 7990 to 1.100v and it runs stable & quiet under full load ... thanks!

Good to hear the club3d can be undervolted. I'm using linux and until now have not been able to get the cards undervolted. Any pointers would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
