After getting positive feedback from our latest mouse, the ZOWIE EC eVo CL with its faster scroll wheel and IR LED, we have decided to make changes to our other popular model - the ZOWIE FK.

From 2014 onwards, ZOWIE FK will have the 24-step scroll wheel as seen in the EC eVo CL series, which makes scrolling faster. The base will also be having some changes made to it - going from yellow to black. ZOWIE FK will have a built-in IR LED which we introduced with the EC eVo CL Series.

If you prefer the 16-step scroll wheel from the current edition of ZOWIE FK you should buy it from our partner stores before it goes out of stock as the next batches of ZOWIE FK will all have the 24-step scroll wheel.

Too bad they won't upgrade the shell. A friend of mine has one. I recommended it to him. :*( He wanted the best mouse for Counter Strike, which it is. BUT!!! After like a week or two the outer shell developed like 2 big cracks in it. He thought his wife maybe dropped it or something. But no, a third crack started while he was using it. I've never seen such cheap plastic in my life. The sensor is good, maybe the best for fps shooters but the rest... If you can, just take one in your hand and feel it, you'll see how cheap it is...

I have been playing quake using a zowie AM (similar to the FK) for over a year now there is no way anyone can break this mouse's shell with normal use. I press the buttons stupidly hard which made me break several razer mice (I broke the internal plastic brides that touch the switches), but this one has survived for much longer. The mouse feels really solid... Regarding the sensor, this is the best that I have ever tested (no jitter, no low malfunction speed nor weird accel ). I must say, your friend's wife must have gotten jealous of the mouse :p, or he bought a defective / fake unit.

Similar is not the same man. The mouse still works, he is using it, although he has like 3 mice, one of them practically brand new. It's not a fake or anything, the sensor is great, the mouse just developed some cracks like you used to get on old car dashboards because of the sun or age or whatever. I played some matches with that mouse, it's good BUT you can really feel those cracks under your palm. He is ok with it but if it happened to me I would be really pissed...

eh? it's a Zowie? i thought it was a Steelserie Kana... generic mouse form is so generic (tm).

not that it is hard to break a Razer mouse ... with the build quality they have ...
i use mouse quite normally

Razer : 4 mouse 2 button failure 1 fried sensor 1 "i dont know what went wrong but it wont work",

Steelserie: 3 mouse 2 double click syndrome 1 general button failure (and it was 2 sensei 1 kana ...)

Mionix Naos 8200: still alive but gifted to a friend price/build quality more than correct unlike the 2 previous brand (they are not bad ... but they are OP for what they are)

MadCatz R.A.T. 7 sensor fried RMA'ed smooth never had any problem after RMA, to a friend gifted

Logitech: lots of them never broke one never had a button failure no sensor fail. still have a G600/G602/M705 and a old PS2 ball mouse (which works flawlessly with a whooping dpi... oh wait no )
